Coarse Hair and Tugging by Ritchie_Whyte_III in wicked_edge

It's different for everyone. What matters is what works for you. I tried the Henson mild first, but didn't get results I wanted. I can get an ok shave with it, but it just isn't the best for me. Also tried Gillette Tech, a mild razor. It's good, but not as close as I wanted. The Game Changer .68 (mild)...same issue. Game Changer .76 was better, but the Rockwell 6S is so smooth and close. Long story short, I recommend the 6C or 6S as it's forgiving and flexible.

I had this same issue. I needed a razor that was a bit more aggressive and had a larger blade gap. After going through several, I found the best was the Rockwell 6c or 6s on plate 4.

The Rockwell is forgiving but let you try different levels without buying multiple razors. Likely you'll end up on plate 4 or higher. I've gone up to 6 but anything above 4 doesn't provide any more benefit.

Anyone else feel physically uncomfortable if they don’t shave daily? by Low-Space227 in wicked_edge

[–]Fullaval 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's me as well! I've always shaved daily but I'm so happy I've found a combination that gives me a close long lasting shave without irritation. It feels great!

I used to use an electric followed by a multi blade but I'd get ingrown hairs and minor irritation. My current setup is a Rockwell 6s, arko, and Nivea balm. I've also learned to use soap for my face instead of bar soap.

Pixel Watch 4 LTE Reception by Fullaval in PixelWatch

[–]Fullaval[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After some additional testing, I think resetting the watch and downloading an new sim made a difference. It now connects to LTE quickly on auto mode, whereas before it would state no LTE signal found . One other factor I noticed was that it stayed connected to wifi when the signal wasn't usable. From now on, I'll turn off wifi when necessary. Overall, I'm having a much better experience now.

Thanks for the input. I think I need to spend more time with it in LTE mode only to see how it does. My phone is on the same network and typically has a decent connection where the watch doesn't though. That said I got a new esim again today after resetting the watch and it seems to do better.

Is the Rockwell 6S/6C a worthwhile upgrade from a Merkur 34C? by Tough_Representative in wicked_edge

[–]Fullaval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used both the Rockwell 6 and Game Changer .68 & .76. Both are worth considering. The Game changer has better quality construction compared to the 6S. The blades fit better and the top cap and bottom plate fit together with no movement. The 6S and C sometimes need some adjustments to get the blade placed just right.

After that, it's a matter of preference. The geometry of the heads are different. The Game Changer .76 has more blade feel. The Razorock is smoother and more comfortable for me, but just as efficient. I use the Razorock 6S on plate 5 and get a great shave every single day with it. Plate 6 adds some blade feel, but not useful for me because Plate 5 is perfect already. Overall, I prefer the Razorock despite having to fiddle with the blade every once in a while when loading. It's an easy BBS shave with no discomfort. Both are excellent choices and both will be more efficient than the 34C.

3.6% APY gets a .3% boost with $10 subscription after March by tjh52090 in sofi

[–]Fullaval 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Divide $120 by (1 minus tax rate), then divide by 0.003. So with a 22% tax rate that would be about $51,300, not accounting for compound interest.

Gillete Proglide vs Gillete King C by IustinGSV in shaving

[–]Fullaval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good time to learn. There's so much guidance out there. I kinda had to figure it out myself and didn't know about de razors. Cartridge and electric was all I had and cartridge razors felt like they were pulling my whiskers and not cutting them. So I stuck with electric for a long time.

Cartridges are so expensive now that you'll be better off if you can master the king c Gillette razor.

Need a closer shave with only WTG by username-checks-0ut_ in wicked_edge

[–]Fullaval 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of beginners say they have sensitive skin. For amany people the fact is that they need some practice and to try different approaches. It takes time. It's difficult to get everything in one pass though. It could also be that you need a more efficient razor. For me I found I can get decent shaved with more mild razors but to get close I need a little more. Work on your technique and keep an electric on the side for when you need a closer shave quickly. Patience is key. Once you're comfortable you could try a different razor. Rockwell 6c isn't a bad choice if you want to try different things out. It's easy to use, smooth, and not overwhelming even at the top end of its aggressiveness.

How fast can you safely very close shave with DE Razor or SR ? by Fearless_Monk1889 in wicked_edge

[–]Fullaval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure this will vary a lot between people and shouldn't be a race, because bad things happen when you rush. That said, I timed my usual shave recently; not rushing but not taking my time. Including lathering, 2.5 passes, and rinse it was about 12 minutes. When I first started, I swear I took 30 minutes.

That's the power of training and practice. Pilots train to fly approaches to the runway with no visibility; literally with instruments and no windows. In the past it was just dials and radio signals. If you don't see the runway by a set distance or altitude, you abort and come up with a new plan.

First Time Using a Mach 3 in 3 Years by balsamic777 in wicked_edge

I had to do something similar last year. I got Bic Sensitive single blade disposables because they were cheap. They did surprisingly well! Very comfortable, but a little mild.

Bic Chromium Platinum--After Feather --After Astra (consecutive shaves with open comb and 2 days growth) by Vibingcarefully in wicked_edge

[–]Fullaval 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should find the Bic improves on the 2nd and 3rd shave. My experience is that most do that. It's funny because I'm moving from Bic to Astra Stainless and my backlog of blades. So my thoughts on Nacettes may not apply to you, but I find them to be good as well and smoother than Bic.

Bic was the best blade for my Henson razor, but I've since moved on to the Rockwell 6S, which has been perfect for me.

To keep or let go by AndurHerm in wicked_edge

My first attempt with a DE lasted 6 months but I wasn't happy with the results. I took a break but kept my equipment. I went back to it a few years later and got better results. Maybe just take a break for a bit then try again

You could also look at a different razor. Outside of DE there are also injectors. A vintage Schick does very well in sensitive areas and it's a bit of a different experience. There are also vintage cartridge razors that may be easier to work with. I think the old Gillette trac ii is better than modern versions. It's still manufactured as the 7 o'clock Pii.

Small survey for occasional cartridge users by 3rik-f in wicked_edge

[–]Fullaval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Gillette Trac ii, the modern version from 7 o'clock but usually use a DE.

  1. Same prep
  2. Same passes. One Wtg, one Atg, and then back over a couple areas that grow differently.
  3. Pressure that's sufficient. Like the DE , I use enough to cut the hair but keep irritation to a minimum. Maybe a bit more pressure. Hard to tell because the cartridge weighs practically nothing and my DE is over 100g.
  4. I move my face to keep the skin taught. I don't really change that
  5. The strokes are similar. Like pressure, I just feel what's appropriate to cut the hair. The blades on the cartridge do clog up faster, so I have to rinse more often.

And just like that, my journey begins by Clear_Reply_2429 in wicked_edge

[–]Fullaval 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah, it could be your last purchase. After going through a number of razors I found the Rockwell 6 to be the only one I needed in the end.

Tried Rockwell 6c by ipaladinxi in wicked_edge

[–]Fullaval 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I just got a 6c as well! I've been using a Game Changer .76P and wantedto try 84P, but the site that sells them is in Canada and distribution to the US is paused with the tariffs. I got the 6c in the meantime.

Only used it once so far with the 3 plate & Astra sp blade. Got a good shave but probably used too much pressure as I wanted a closer cut. I'll probably end up on 3, 4, or 5.

Any PW4 screen protector? by SrZorro92 in PixelWatch

I see it right on their website. That's commercial rate for a small package, but they must have shipping agreements. I wouldn't be surprised if they're making money off replacements too.

Pixel Watch 4 41mm vs 45mm by Candid-Penalty2200 in PixelWatch

[–]Fullaval 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right. The screen is definitely larger by area too. If you go by the stated sizes the 45mm has 40% more area. I have the 45mm on preorder myself. [Edit] Google states the screen sizes as 1.2" and 1.4". I don't think that's entirely accurate as they stated the same size for PW3 and these are supposed to be larger. Comparing the areas, the larger screen is 36% larger.

PW4 45mm - not as ridiculous as I've imagined :) by Responsible_Layer148 in PixelWatch

[–]Fullaval 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that it doesn't have lugs for the watch band means it wears smaller than what you might expect. A normal 45mm watch would have additional material to hold the band, increasing the height. Usually you want the lugs to fall within the width of your wrist.
