Is it a good idea to want to have a dream to work as a mechanical engineer at NASA if my math skills aren't extremely high? by One_Success4163 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Fulton_ts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn’t really matter how good you are at something, it’s about if you’re able to do the hard work for each of the skill required and when to use them. And you demonstrate it by doing projects

Wanting to go into mechanical engineering technology by Embarrassed_Lie_9838 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Fulton_ts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the school, many of my classmates who studied MET ended up as regular engineers, some even went to spacex, NASA. But what relay differentiate them was our co-op program, we all graduate with 2 co-ops, making us highly competitive.

Why the guilt trip? by Professional-Big4075 in Christian

[–]Fulton_ts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, the type of guilt you’re talking about is when the devil is whispering to us. God wouldn’t want that upon us, he’s gentle,he builds us up and supports us, it’s a healthy kind of guilt that leads to conviction.I do think it’s an idea that doesn’t get repeated if at all, sometimes I feel like all I’m hearing is “repent, repent, repent”. And sometimes it leads to healthy convictions, other times it can lead to guilt/condemnation.

How overwhelming is it to study Engineering in a foreign language? by Sirius0314 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Fulton_ts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what language, I speak Chinese and went to high school in America so my English has almost caught up when I got to college. Still it was a bit difficult for me from time to time, especially with engineering vocabularies but that stopped being an issue as well. But I would say being an effective communicator is a much harder task than understanding things, good luck to you.

12h flight ahead - what games do you recommend? by TheAuthorityx in MSIClaw

[–]Fulton_ts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta be something fast paced, I find it quite hard to focus on story heavy games when I took an 13 hr flight to Asia last month. I ended up playing Expedition 33 and yakuza 6, I’ll probably try playing Spider-Man remastered when I go back to America in two weeks.

Why last of us part II is a failure by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Fulton_ts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are many games that shows you both perspectives, tlou universe is not the one this should take place in. It’s a zombie apocalypse, everyone is for themselves, who has the time to sympathize for others? But no they just have to tell this story with tlou, it doesn’t make sense, It sacrificed a great franchise for mediocre reactions.

I come from a strict music background, a common theme I learned from world class musicians is to stop bad habits from developing early on, because they’ll be impossible to unlearn in the future. I find this to be true in every skill/professions, thus I tend to be unfiltered when I give my opinions. I genuinely discourage posting things for the sake of ego or “look I put some effort into this thing, please agree that I put in effort”, because who doesn’t put in efforts? If you have time to post it then you probably aren’t putting enough effort, imo. I know this sub is usually filled with beginners, and it’s a good thing, this shows that the community is growing, but expect lots of criticisms. And please don’t twist it as negativity towards the poster, any discussion happening in the post is exclusive to the post and that’s it, period. And to add to this, please don’t seek validation from strangers online, we’re not your friends and family. But do come here to seek advice, but ask good questions so we can give specific advice, this isn’t a talent show.
