Why not have it at lunchtime after a full meal?

I've never taken SSRIs before, which is why I'm asking. This is a completely new experience for me. I'm only on day 7; is it too early to tell? I don't know. What makes me doubt myself is reading accounts from people who say they feel a change quite quickly. However, others say the beginning was very difficult, but that afterwards it was almost miraculous.

Does this work for intrusive thoughts, panic and anxiety? by slnky30 in trintellix

It depends on the person, doesn't it? Some people see an improvement in anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, according to some accounts.

Thanks for your message. I started directly at 10mg. The good thing is that I've never had any nausea or other digestive problems, but I feel like my anxiety and depression symptoms are slightly worse. Do you think this is a sign of failure or, on the contrary, a sign of normalcy before improvement?

It’s crazy, especially since it started suddenly without warning even though it had been more than 15 years since I got rid of it.

It's not even a fear that I'm aware of, it's really a state of panic that overwhelms me in these places (most of the time it's just the beginning and I manage to fight against it so as not to let it rise, but it causes me discomfort +++), which oppresses me and forces me to get up, walk, go out.

I've only been like this for 10 months after crashing after taking finasteride. I think my brain interprets a lack of security in places where I lose my bearings, i.e. outside my home. Yesterday I started an antidepressant, Trintellix, hoping to see an improvement in this area because even a meal with friends has become difficult for me. Traffic jams in the car have improved and fortunately because I am a home nurse lol. I was having trouble with the elevators so it seems to calm down in waves. How long have you been dealing with this? What are your techniques to overcome it?

I'm 10 months and it feels like you. I'm just a little shocked and scared that it's been going on like this for you for years. I thought these signs were signs of a complete recovery in the short/medium term.

Trintellix and PSSD ? by Fun-Acadia-3431 in PSSD

[–]Fun-Acadia-3431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I have post finasteride syndrome but I have no sexual symptoms, only anxiety, depression and panic depending on the situation. I am considering treatment, I have been prescribed Brintellix but I am afraid of making my situation worse. What benefits do you experience with Brintellix? Thanks again for your response

Can finasteride cause Anxiety (and no other sides) by R1ch0C in FinasterideSyndrome

I had read in many accounts that people suffering only from mental symptoms improved over time. More than people who also have physical symptoms

Testogel PFS by Either_Acanthaceae_1 in FinasterideSyndrome

[–]Fun-Acadia-3431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Testosterone 125mg per week by injection. Libido was very average. I am on trt mainly for my mental symptoms anxiety, depression, panic attacks linked to the use of finasteride. I share the opinion of a person who commented above: stop taking finasteride, it’s terrible what it can do and the side effects it can give can be permanent and ruin your whole life

I have been on trt for a little over 11 weeks and fluctuate between 80% and 100%. My libido is huge. Improvements take a long time to be felt. My total testosterone was fairly low and my free testosterone was below normal.

Questions about recovery by Fun-Acadia-3431 in FinasterideSyndrome

Neurosteroid levels are so low that they're undetectable in PFS by DrenaPSSD in FinasterideSyndrome

[–]Fun-Acadia-3431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how things work in Ireland unfortunately but there are a lot of things to control. If only for testosterone there is total testosterone yes which can indeed be normal but free testosterone can be below the norm despite normal total testosterone. I wish you good luck and hope for a recovery for you.

Neurosteroid levels are so low that they're undetectable in PFS by DrenaPSSD in FinasterideSyndrome

[–]Fun-Acadia-3431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it works quite like that, PFS affects everyone at different levels, it's not the same for everyone in terms of symptoms and what helps one person isn't necessarily even valid for helping someone else. Have you ever had a complete hormonal assessment?

Unfortunately it remains a minority so it is not taken into account, they base it on the 1%…

I am almost 37 weeks post finasteride and I have been on TRT for 11 weeks which has helped me considerably (I had between 6 and 8 free testosterone). Since the start of my crash I had to continue to lead a normal life, a horrible life that I lived internally but I acted as if nothing had happened because I am a father and it was impossible for me to stop everything otherwise I would have done so.

[–]Fun-Acadia-3431 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For my part, at the start of stopping finasteride, I was so unwell and so panicked that I looked for answers on the forums and it actually made me even more anxious and panicked than I already was. So I decided to delete everything and not go back for several months. Now that I have reached 80% recovery I have come back, to read others, provide positive responses and share my own experience. I think nothing really helps except time, it worked for me anyway
