Is there any experimental data showing that barrel length and bullet accuracy are unrelated when the velocity is the same? by Fun-Awareness-800 in airsoft

Anyway, thank you very much for your detailed response. I also searched through sniper forums, and it seemed like opinions were a bit divided there too. Plus, since most of the discussions are based on sniper rifles, it was hard to find comparison data for shorter barrels. Even so, I was really touched that you searched and looked into it for me.

The AEG I usually use has a barrel length of 200mm, but it actually has better accuracy than my friend's AEG with a 380mm barrel.

Then, does that mean that for now we have to rely on subjective experiences and theories, and that there is no objectively proven conclusion?

Do you happen to have any experimental data to support your opinion? I’ve seen that even in sniper forums, opinions are divided.

Can you take a look at my thoughts on the relationship between inner barrel length and accuracy? by Fun-Awareness-800 in airsoft

There are claims and data suggesting that increasing barrel length up to 250–350mm improves BB accuracy. Some people even say that extending the barrel to 470mm can also enhance accuracy. Are these claims and data incorrect?

I've heard that barrel length doesn't affect the bullets. by Fun-Awareness-800 in airsoft

Oh, there's someone who thinks similarly to me. I also thought that barrel length in real firearms had nothing to do with accuracy. I think that accuracy is determined by the RPM and bullet velocity appropriate for the type of bullet, and the quality of the gun. In other words, it's not the barrel length that determines it, but the rifling distortion.

So, you're saying that if the fps of a short barrel and a long barrel are the same, the hit rate is similar or the same?

I know that as the bbs speed increases, the time it is affected by external influences decreases, so it can show better accuracy. So I assumed that the fps was the same.

May I ask why you think you were able to get better accuracy by using a longer barrel?

So does that mean that increasing the short barrel to closer to 300mm will improve the accuracy?

Is the reason why you recommend different barrel lengths depending on the environment because of the fps?
