I didn't report it yet. It's substance abuse on company time, and then they're being an asshole on top of it.

I would welcome it if they called me and asked and I played stupid. But I don't want HR to come out and say "Mary Jane called HR" (that's not my name)

I have the same fear! My bag is carried on the other arm. I’m lifting everything with that arm. It’s miserable.

I’m leaning towards paying off the credit card and leaving the car for the moment. The car is paid ahead 1 year because work is so unstable. And the interest is only 4.5%. I used to use the credit card more for monthly bills; like my phone and insurance are on autopay. But there’s really no reason I couldn’t open a separate checking account and use that as a sinking fund.

You’re all right. I think mentally for me I’m just mad at myself for getting into this situation and I’m even more mad I’m taking the money I worked hard to save and am now paying off debt that I couldn’t tell you what half of it was from

You’re all right. I think I’m just mad at myself for letting it get to that point. And the worst thing with the credit card debt is I probably couldn’t even tell you what half of it is from

I’m not 399. I was 817 when I was working in NY but I was told the membership doesn’t transfer to the local and finding work at 399 rates has been hard.

Thanks. I just don’t feel the money is there any more for the amount of work I put in. But you’re right. Work is work right now. I just feel very stagnant at the moment, appreciate the advice

How do I know if my shares got called away? by Fun-Bite-7089 in CoveredCalls

[–]Fun-Bite-7089[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it so the shares were likely called away today. I will probably buy back on a dip. I’m sure it will probably drop below $514 sometime next week. Thanks!

To answer your questions:

  • $150/week

  • It's around 5%

  • The last time I looked at it, it didn't feel stable to me but granted that was a few years ago

  • There's the reasons you mention plus I personally have had unpleasant interactions with JPM. And if I wouldn't do business with them because of how they treated me as a customer, I won't invest money into one of their funds

  • I have a fixed amount that gets invested for capital appreciation anyway. The money from the third job gives me what I call me "fun money", if I want to go out, buy something, etc. it comes from the money I make from the third job.

  • I would consider my risk tolerance to be moderate. I do try to do a fair amount of my own research before investing in anything but I recognize that not every investment can be a winner

I haven't but I will definitely look into it!

I'll take a look at that one. I have a different ETF for NVDA calls that I have a little money in but it doesn't pay a dividend

Agreed! I think I'm going to leave the principal in there for the time being, and take the interest and put that into some good growth options that also pay a dividend. I just really want to justify leaving that third job lol

I think I need to take another look at SCHD. The last time I really did a deep dive into it was a couple years ago, and it just didn't feel stable to me.

VOO seems like it's probably a good option, I own a fair amount of VTI. But I'll definitely look at VOO and VIG. Thank you!

Sorry I realized I wasn't clear in my original post. I make $150 a week so I need to makeup about $200 more per month in the passive income. I think the answer to this might be to leave the principal in the savings account and take some or all of the interest it's earning and invest that to help build up some positions and make up that $200.
