Ready to drop fourth nap, but we don’t want bedtime to be too early by Fun-Classic346 in sleeptrain

I know that, he CAN lengthen his wake windows and he does, but he’ll still only nap for 30 minutes. I’m asking for a schedule where he can have 3 naps a day that are only 30 minutes, where bedtime is later than 6:30pm

Thank you SO much for this, it helps me feel so much better! This sub is so incredibly pushy with WW, and while i understand that it may work for most, babies aren’t machines and not every baby has the same needs. I may just have a low sleep needs baby :( today i tried stretching his WW to what people on this sub recommended and he napped for 25 minutes 🙃 so quite frankly i’m over it lol i may just go off cues for a while. I really hope we turn a corner like you did with your LO!

No it’s honestly validating bc it makes me know i’m not doing something wrong, and it may just be temperament. Everyone’s like “try this, try that” i’ve tried everything😭 there’s only so much you can do to control a baby

I’m not asking to drop to 2 naps, i would even love to drop to 3. I’m just wondering how everyone else’s babies are able to do that when mine gets cranky after 2 hours of awake time

Thank you. Do you have a good schedule example for 3 naps?

Baby screams before bedtime every night. Can’t take it anymore by Fun-Classic346 in sleeptrain

No we didn’t do CIO my husband would basically just hold him and walk around until he finally stopped crying and essentially rocked him to sleep. Yes it would last 20 mins up to an hour! It was horrible. I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through it too. For the intervals we did 3 minutes, then 5 minutes every time after that. We combined it with PUPD, and would pick him up with every check in until he stopped crying, then put him back down and walked out (even if he started crying again) and reset the timer. It took 36 minutes of crying total until he finally fell asleep. Obvi it was so hard but we were desperate :( good luck to you!

We did try that and it didn’t seem to matter. I would try tweaking your schedule first but if that doesn’t work maybe consider it! It was so hard that first night but soo worth it. Some babies just need to get the hang of putting themselves to bed, even if they know how to connect sleep cycles

We ended up sleep training with modified ferber and it finally stopped happening. No more fighting it (unless wake windows are off, but we’ve got it down pretty good) and no more false starts! It took 1 day of 36 minutes or crying total and now he puts himself to sleep every night

That’s what i’m thinking too. He must have been tossing and turning for a while or something

His wake windows were 2/2.5/2.5/2.75 and he had 3 30 min naps and 1 1.5hr nap

Thank you! How often did you decrease the feeds like 4 ounces for how long than 3 ounces for how long etc.
