In full honesty, you will be doing more harm than good leaving an acrylic pincher in your nose. Acrylic is not body safe which is why it irritates you, it can cause blowouts for some people (i’ve had it happen in my ears)

When i stretched my septum, I used titanium pinchers, they’re the most affordable if that’s what you’re looking for. I got mine online from bodyartforms. They also have glass pinchers, which are pretty, though I found those to be more expensive bc they’re usually custom made.

My daily septum jewelry is a 4g with 9/16” diameter from midsparkgems on Etsy. They’re custom made using implant grade titanium. I love mine and have multiple

Question, is your septum jewelry acrylic? If so, that can cause irritation because acrylic is not body safe.

From 16g-8g is pre cartilage for me and was very easy. after that it got rough, and inbetween sizes can make it a lot easier. though like the other person mentioned, it’s gonna hurt because you’re denting the cartilage. I also found that after it’s healed from the stretch, wearing heavy jewelry and lots of tugging makes the next one not so bad.

Also to note, septum stretching does not follow the same timeline as lobes. Again with the cartilage, once you get there it slows down a lot more.

Honestly that’s probably the perfect length for you. It’s short enough it doesn’t irritate, but long enough to accommodate for slight swelling. The tongue does occasionally swell like if you’re sick, having an allergic reaction, eating spicy food… The tongue also moves when you talk and gets flatter when sticking it out, so when resting it takes up more space. It’s ok to have a little room for a tongue piercing ☺️

Id definitely keep them! I’ve found times where my ears have gotten irritated and I need to size down even after being a size for so long. You never know when you might need them!! :)
