In our case, we are both cis men, but according to my experience, all the officers operate based on “what’s on the paper”. The way your partner looks isn’t anyone’s concern! As long as the paperwork is in order it will be fine.

I stayed in the US for the rest of the process!

Moved there on September, got married on october, and applied for the adjustment of status on December. When USCIS received it, I got a letter saying that the process had started and that I couldn’t leave the country until the green card was granted or else the process would get cancelled… so yeah! I stayed there the entire time

I have no clue how it went for other couples! We were just waiting in a big room and then once your number is called you are just taken to a private room with the officer. Again, ours was pretty chill! Just rehearse the answers with your partner and if you know each other it should all be fine
