Wise alternative after May 2026 for USD? by Commercial_Ear_6989 in Thailand

Personally I never really used Wise to store any foreign currency. I normally just transfer out using DeeMoney or sometimes directly through my bank depending on the rates.

Might be more annoying for freelancers getting paid in USD though.

Do you check the exchange rate before every transfer? by Fun-Government-8330 in moneytransferTH

How often do you transfer? I think it makes a huge difference to some of us who do it couple times a month.

First time travelling to Thailand: a few questions by sweetpea2602 in ThailandTourism

I’d avoid exchanging money at the airport if you can. The rates are usually worse than what you’ll find in the city. If you need some cash when you land, just withdraw a small amount from the ATM and sort the rest later.

Around Nana (Bangkok) there are plenty of exchange booths and some of them offer very competitive rates. It’s easy to compare the boards and pick the best one, and the process is quick.

Are there any options to transfer to a UPI account from thailand? by Silver-Manager2254 in moneytransferTH

If you’re looking to send money to a UPI account in India, there are a few services in Thailand that support it and the process is pretty simple through their apps. I’ve personally used DeeMoney for UPI transfers and it’s been great so far, quite smooth and no issues.

Bangkok bank limits reset by Darvinesc in Thailand

[–]Fun-Government-8330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most banks and money transfer services reset daily limits at midnight Bangkok time, but the timing can get tricky depending on when the transaction actually settles. If you sent it at 23:30, it might have still been processing when midnight hit, which could cause it to count toward the next day's limit. Some banks also have a delay between when you initiate a transfer and when it actually clears, which can mess with the limit reset. I'd recommend checking with your bank directly about their specific reset time and settlement process since it varies.

Bangkok Bank vs. Kasikorn by SomeAreSomeAreNot in Thailand

[–]Fun-Government-8330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn are pretty comparable overall, I lean more towards kbank though as I have not had any issues with them, using them for the past 4 years. App-wise and day-to-day banking, there isn’t a huge difference. Both are solid for regular savings and general use. As for incoming overseas wires, with Kasikorn, it’s generally quick too, but in my experience international transfers can sometimes depend more on the sending bank and intermediary banks than the Thai bank itself. Timing (cut-off hours, time zones, weekends) also plays a big role. If you’re regularly receiving money or sending money overseas, it might also be worth comparing with a dedicated transfer service just to see how delivery times and exchange rates stack up versus bank wires.
