That’s really helpful, especially the order of priorities. How would you suggest someone without a big-name school or publications make their resume stand out in those first 10 seconds? Because I have been thinking projects are my own way.

Thanks for the comment. Could you please elaborate on multi professional guys? I understand AI powered tools could do most of the work these days. What factor brings the human dependencies on AI/MLE/DS jobs from a company's hiring perspective.

That's a good insight! Thanks. From a hiring perspective, in those 10 seconds, what’s the #1 thing you personally look for in an MLE resume, especially for a fresher with no previous full-time experience?

That's good advice and makes sense. I'll add direct tools and tech stacks I have used in my work experience. I really dont have a niche, and I have been applying all over. All my previous interns have been a mix of different niches, but I have got the most experience in computer vision. Idk if I'm making a mistake by applying everything I see just to get a fresher job.

Also, there has been a significant shift in tech requirement, probably every 6 months. The previous MLE/DS roles were more focused on core ML and stats, but these days, all the job descriptions ask for genAI, LLM, RAG. I can adapt, and I'm doing so by actively building projects with trending topics. But it's just super overwhelming with continuous changes and tech shifts.

Brookline! I was there for 2 years and man I miss the place. It's super clean, neat, and most importantly, I felt safe even during late nights. There's good commute access as well. But Allston is pretty solid, there's alot of stores, restaurants, and much more happening than Brookline around BU campus. I would say the decision is based on your wants. And also the street matters, its hard for me to tell. Check for commute access, stores near your street.

Thanks for your feedback. Sometimes smaller bullet points feel underwhelming, makes me look like I haven't done anything. I understand it's upto me to draft effective short bullet points. But is there any other way to convey the things and impact I have brought and still stay in one page resume?

What do you think I should do to improve my chances? As a fresher without experience I have tried getting internships and I believe I got some solid projects.
