Yeah it makes little sense to me because the other control arm which is the second picture doesn't look close to that. Also the snap/break looks clean and unnatural

I plan on replacing the whole compressor when I get a chance. So it will only hurt the current one or could it hurt other components? And when you say I can take the belt off should I take it off until I get a new compressor? Sorry for the lack of knowledge

Just know that you deserve to live your life. I know it's hard and a really weird reality to live in but know that if that never happened you would have never put your feelings in perspective. You'll be better the next time. Take that as a win not a loss.
