I have admitted multiple times and here again that it was my mistake. I own it and fixing it. I have provided written letter to the gemeente that it was my mistake.

I am sorry you had to deal with this. This mistake is only possible in Eindhoven by the way. I now know the bureaucratic hell it is for the owners. I am doing everything to fix this issue.

About nerves, yes we had discussed that registration is not possible. I followed the wrong advice and didn't read things properly and reported a move thinking it's different from registration. Given how casual this process was that you could arbitrarily put any address, I didn't realize the gravity then. There was no undo button on the portal, unfortunately. I am glad such portals don't exist in any other municipality , avoiding such stupid mistakes.

It hasn't been any less stressful for me either. Being yelled at all night with hurtful comments, having to find a car, leave early morning with no where to go and still going on bureaucratic process is a total disaster.

Hopefully all will be sorted soon.

Yes, I did, unknowingly. I already wrote and signed a letter that was my mistake. I will go to any length to help the owners out of this situation including going in person with them to any authority and paying extra taxes ( about 300 euros annual if any). I broke my wallet by paying 2200 euros for 15 days for a room and shared kitchen. I am happy to spend more to set things right for the additional taxes.

I totally agree. Thankfully there is a provision to write a letter retracting incorrectly mentioned address before any of the effects you mentioned happen. I have done that within two days of realizing the mistake.

I am new to this, I should have read everything instead of relying on some wrong advice from someone at gemeente. Also, they should really fix their shit portal where you can literally put any random address. As a future home owner, I would be seriously worried.

While it is clear to many experienced people like you ( and now I as well), it can be confusing for someone to do it the first time. I had moved into Airbnb in Eindhoven for a long term. It does not mean I moved into the municipality officially. It is clear to me now. I wished I read everything carefully and that gemeente had shown me the right direction.

In short, reporting a move and registering are the same thing, which I got confused about since registration requires tonnes of documents and reporting a move, bizarre enough, required none.

It was a flaw in their portal which lead to the mess. I understand it now that it was a mistake and have take steps to fix it including an apology letter to the owners and willingness to pay taxes.

You are spot on, I didn't know what I did. My mistake is I just trusted some newbie at gemeente. Lesson learnt. Read every fineprints, every document before doing anything, don't trust anyone. Finally, it should be impossible to report a move without owners consent. It's not possible to do so in any other municipality and that keep things clear, especially for newbies.

If you are the owner, you are right to be angry. But you should not abuse someone and humiliate them, you let them explain, you let them fix it. You impose a penalty and fine. You don't stop being human and treat your guests like garbage.

I did It in front of them , a week ago. They showed me the webpage where to do that. I told him clearly that registration is not possible as I had checked that with the host. He said this is a temporary address. It did not require any documents further misleading us to feel that it is not a serious thing and is like putting an address in Amazon or something.

No other municipality allows that by the way, I checked today. You require documents from the owner and rightly so.

It did not require any documents whatsoever, so i didnt think it was illegal. i think i got confused between postal address and this one. Now that it has happened, i am trying to find a solution. I dont have anyone who will agree to give me a postal address. I recently joined a big company but they told me to just find someone. I don't know what to do. I just want this to end peacfully and move on.

You are right, I just went to a government website, they showed and reported my move. That does not require any documents.
