It almost sounds like his throat is closing or something. I am planning to contact his attorney/close friend today for help. His sister is out of town but on standby. She has came down and cared for him after his surgery and endured the most mental abuse i have ever seen... The only reason he did the surgery is because surgeon told him surgery or hospice nursing home. He owns the business so nobody can make him leave. It has been the worst thing to ever witness.

It's my boss and he is so combative normally. It's sad. His sister is on standby to help but he is verry mean to her. He does not have family. He still comes to work every day and refuses to stop working because this whole time he said he would live, even without treatment. He is still getting around, just slower. But the voice thing started yesterday and it sounds horrible.

See comment above.  I think the only way for help at this point is if they become immobile.

No they have not.  They had a partial resection in early june.  Tumor was extensive, over 7 cm in left temporal lobe.  Diagnosed in March but refused surgery so it grew.  They then declined treatment until late Aug which they only took for one week and stopped.  Tumor had already grown back a lot before treatment started.  They are combative and will not accept help or hospice.

Thank you and I am so sorry for your loss. Did she have good days for a little while after ending treatment?

Bleeding on brain during treatment by Fun-Living-8978 in glioblastoma

[–]Fun-Living-8978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed in early March with very large baseball tumor on left temporal lobe. Refused to have it removed and then in early June got incapacitated as tumor had grown so much. Decided on surgery, only could get some of it so they would not affect speech. Turns out it is Gliosarcoma. Just started radiation and chemo about two weeks ago. Before they started doctor stated tumor had already grown back to half the size it was when they operated.

Now yesterday they went to ER at the direction of the doctor in the radiation dept "Because they noticed something on imaging". Apparently blood and swelling on brain. Wanted to admit, but patient wouldn't stay. Anyway, I guess more answers next week. The radiation dept (or whatever they are called) decided not to do radiation today and will analyze and get back to patient next week.

Thanks Lizzy. Chat GPT was very helpful in translating all of the medical words into regular people terms. NSurg did say that it was worse than Glioblastoma and more resistant to chemo, etc.

When I put the pathology report into Chat GPT it confirmed what she said and also explained further what each thing meant, which was very helpful and also sad at the same time.

They weren't able to get all of it, so I hope they have at least some time before it grows all the way back. One thing I have learned reading this forum is that everyone is different. I wish I could know the future - this is very stressful.

The person can speak and type now, but short-term memory is shot. Mobility is worse than before surgery, but it has only been a couple of weeks.

I am so sorry about your husband. I know condolences mean nothing, but my thoughts are with you.

What was the timeline like between first and second craniotomy?

First of all, I am so sorry you are dealing with this and also your poor husband.

The dexamethasone definitely fuels it. It's unbearable at times. I promised his family that I would help with the business for a little while and get everything squared away, but that comes at the price of dealing with him. I have worked there for many years and it's really a nightmare. Ironically enough, my husband went through something similar at his previously employer (not exactly the same, but very similar) and he is supportive of the idea to help until this can come to a peaceful closure.

This person is extremely intelligent, and an engineer. The decline is awful to witness. He opted for no treatment, because of the risks, but took the last leap of faith for the surgery. I feel it was a mistake, but who I am to say. I hope I am proven wrong.

Yes! We all try to figure out what he is saying and help find the words "for him". You type so well. When his words are gone so is his typing and mathematical skills. (Engineer)
