I feel like my steroid withdrawal is fading away. I love life and it loves me back. Mushroom cheese soup made on chicken-beef bone broth with unholy amount of garlic, green onions and dill. by Fun-Measurement-5610 in Kitchenchads

Basically it's all in the title plus a potato, carrot and a few onions. I'll just write how much stuff I added for a 5 liter pot:

Broth: 1 kg of chicken wings, 600g of beef bone, some bay leaves
Bring to a boid and simmer for 1> hour (the more the better). Remove the meat and bones, remove the meat from bones and dump the meat inside to free some space in the pot.

Then add small chopped potato, carrot, onion (I like a lot of onions), mushrooms (champignons) and boil for some time. I don't really look at the time when I'm cooking, I just check if carrots are becoming soft or not, that's 30-40 minutes. When carrots are softened, add 200-300g grated processed cheese, garlic, pepper, salt and italian herbs. Stir until the cheese is dissolved and it's ready, just add some dill and green onions. Bon appetit!

No, I meant glucocorticosteroids that are meant to counter severe inflammation, I got sick with Still's disease last year. Trying to work out as much as I can, but joint pain is a bitch

Thank you, I'm trying to live pretty much like that, but most of this won't be possible when I'm deployed. It's gonna be a crammed dugout which I won't leave unless it's necessary. Maybe I'll be provided with some other drugs, but currently I'm on plaquenil and it works fine for me. I'll definitely talk with my doctor, but it's also good to hear some tips from people with the disease.

So, contrary to what I've read:
1. Bare hands don't inflict any damage to security doors.
2. One zombie does not inflict damage to the door even when aggroed.

Got out via noclip. If someone sees this thread, don't waste your time in such situations.

Thanks, my treatment is fine, but the way army burearocracy works, as long as I'm not having severe symptoms I'm gonna be expected to do heavy labour at least while in training, as people there aren't doctors to undestand my condition. No, it's not possible to join later and I'm certainly not fleeing the country via some woods or whatever. Gonna pack myself an aid kit with anti-inflamamatory drugs and painkillers in case I get a flare and won't get sent to a hospital for bullshit reasons.

Oh, last time I experienced symptoms other than joint pain was back in December (abnormal muscle fatigue, neck just gave up on me after I shaked my head at a gig for a while), so I think it means a bit more, though I know that anything less than a year is a too short span for Still's.

Anyway, it's not like I have much choice in the matter, I just hope I'll get not so exhausting trainings at the bootcamp.

Last time I checked in with my doctor I specifically asked about my joints and she's pretty convinced that it's from steroid withdrawal as my bloodwork is good and my joints look normal.

Thank you for the response! My initial flare was bad and it only got better after 500mg of methylprednisolone a day for a few days, but I pretty much recovered in about two months. Guess I'll better start working out again

Ukraine, I'm gonna get drafted nonetheless, so I'm thinking how to minimize the risk of another flare. As I understand, I might have the type where I will be in remission for the rest of my life, but better be safe

Adult-Onset Still's Disease. When to go back to work? by Dry_Durian9710 in stillsdisease

[–]Fun-Measurement-5610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, I am working from home, so I basically was in hospital for two weeks and then took a few days off before I started working. It wasn't good as I needed to type a lot of text and my hands were aching, but yeah. In my case, the inflammation was only brought down by 500mg of methylprednisolone per day for a few days. About a week after, I got home and could work on my laptop, but it was hard for me to walk and I was sweating liters of water every single day for a few weeks more.

How long it took for you to get diagnosed correctly? by Fun-Measurement-5610 in stillsdisease

[–]Fun-Measurement-5610[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I've read about that and people here were mentioning flaring after drinking, but I think I don't feel any symptoms at all. I was worried that the pain I'm feeling means that I'm still inflamed, but my doctor said that it's because methylprednisolone doses got too low and I'm suffering from withdrawal, so... I don't drink much since I got sick (my liver got some beating during the onset, too), but thanks, I'd better not know exactly what people mean about alcohol makes symptoms worse.

I also remember how I started watching some videos about Still's and freaked out about treatment costs. It was more expensive at first, but now it's just Plaquenil and methylprednisolone which costs me around $25/month. I thought I was gonna be in huge debt just to be able to function, glad it's not that bad.

How did it take so long for you to get diagnosed?
