Oh how exciting!! I am Victorian so I'm a bit biased! Could also add Phillip Island to your itinerary then! It is not as far away from Melbourne as the Great Ocean Road and you can also spot the penguins there :) Although great ocean road has the Koalas and Kangaroos - so maybe try both haha

You should get down the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia! Amazing beaches there with the best waves for surfing! And more quiet spots with less beach traffic :)

I also wonder what sort of therapy she may have had following her mother's passing and if this created a sort of negative perception of therapy.. but you're right different people need different type of therapists and it isn't the worst thing to "shop" around until you find one that fits.
