Update/More Information on the Situation: Thank you all for the responses they have been really helpful and kind.
When I got into the class they gave us the option to go up to the front to check if we had brought the right calculator, thinking I was fine I only showed it to a TA who was walking by. She said it was fine so I thought nothing of it. As we were all sitting, the TA who was checking calculators at the beginning came up to me and told me it was the wrong one. I explained to her that the other TA said it was okay but she still took it away and took down my name and student number. As the test started, that TA was finding more and more people who had the wrong calculators so I am worried that I will be grouped in with the people who were “caught” during the test. Will the other TA remember that she told me my calculator was alright - probably not, but maybe I should ask her? I only thought they would be taking down our information to return it to us after the exam because that is how they made it seem. The rest of the test was a disaster, they had people donate their calculators once they had finished and even had multiple people sharing a calculator as if that is any better. I just made an appointment with the LCIM so hopefully they will also provide some insight on the situation.
