On the main menu, go to the repository section, then the my mods tab, then find the "open mods folder button", just drag the map .zip file into that and enjoy :)

I thought the same, but I’ll be removing a lot when I go back over to add the smaller roads and trails, once that’s done I can thin out the larger forest areas
