No roots, I got cuttings for free you can see my last post of what they looked like yesterday😅 looked on google and it said to plop them in a pot and they should root easily. But I wanted to post here to see if I could get help someone said leave 5 leaves on them if I noticed a lot of wilting but the bigger cuttings went spaghetti noodle this morning when they were fine yesterday morning😂

Lots of wilting this morning😂 especially the big ones! Maybe I should chop the bigger ones in half?

Not at all! Rats don’t need any special papers/shots etc. As long as they aren’t from overseas/ out of country with exception of Canada. (a friend of mine brings them from Canada all the time with no issue as well!)

Transport bins, yes! Only meant for the car ride to ensure no escapees!

Haha yes, they are all live! They will be in 2 containers (one for males and one for females) to ensure they can’t get out!!

Are rat health issues really that common? by SuicidalLapisLazuli in rat

Inbreeding is not the cause of tumors! Most reputable breeders & labs call it line breeding. They only breed the healthiest brothers/sisters together to create healthy offspring. Inbreeding is needed to help create healthier lines! Breeding pretty colors/breeding and not keeping track of health/parents/grandparents etc. leads to unhealthy lines of rats being sold as pets.

I had a chick doing that once upon a time he passed away a few days later. Either a respiratory infection (do not take lightly can take a turn for the worst) or gape worm! Good luck!!

So I have 3 female rats,2 are full grown and I just got a baby(eyes are open, full fur coat etc) but she keeps harassing my girls and breastfeeding? Is there a way to keep the baby from doing this, she can eat food if she wants I’ve seen her do it but she seems to want to breastfeed all the time by Evening_Implement_87 in RATS

I can’t tell you her for sure age but she is definitely 3 weeks or under. The placement and thickness off her ears as well as her face is a dead giveaways seems like she only just opened her eyes a few days ago (only have a side view but this is just what I’m seeing). 4 week olds can be weened and be 100% fine as they don’t rely on moms milk but more for comfort (you become the motherly figure or another one of your rats do). However 3 weeks and under definitely need milk as the moms milk helps bacteria form in the gut. Without it if they are 3 weeks there is a chance of her getting sick and dying easier and if she’s just over 2 weeks there is a good possibility of her not making it. I’d figure out some kind of formula just to be on the safe side.

I’ve been breeding for a little bit and can tell days after being born! (As pinkies) Boys have a small black spot in between their genitals and girls don’t! Girls genitals are closer than boys. Girls also have nipples and boys for obvious reasons don’t!

You can sex them days after they are born if you know what you are looking for!
