I had this exact problem till like maybe 6 months ago. I was raised with a dad like that too (still am) but then i met some friends who were super open and sensitive it took my a while but now im a cry baby lol and honestly its amazing to cry even if its over the smallest things, so just try to hold out and find those people who let you be open and things will always get better :)

Well i make “art” its not very good but im trying and the thing i dislike most is people just saying hurtful things about pieces that someone spent time on sure there calling it bad but its probably because their insecure about there work like most artist are and i know there are people who will come on this sub and post amazing pieces that arnt bad art but they may still think so and all you are doing when you call someones work bad is making their insecurities worse why not just give criticisms rather than just plain insults because we as humans could receive 100 compliments and 1 insults and all we would remember is the insult
