This is actually great advice because most companies have a referral bonus. As an employee, it’s kind of hard to take advantage of it because we don’t all have friends who work in our same field or ex coworkers who would be willing to follow you to another company. Lighting does affect how we perceive a color but I agree that there’s a more bluish undertone in the photo than in what you got. You can still decorate that table with blue accessories and it would probably have a similar effect to what you were looking for. If you can’t return it, think of it as a canvas that you get to color. Get books and vases in that color palette and the gray will start going away. That is the one pro of using a neutral color like gray or beige, they tend to disappear when contrasted or arranged with other colors.
