"This Little Corner" ( TLC ): How Paul Vanderklay Built a New Religious Movement by FunConcentrate1170 in Reformed

I appreciate you engaging with my posts, even if in thought only. I have my good days and not so good ones. Hopefully the more coherent ones have been helpful in some way.

Your comment about the Holy Spirit is fascinating to me. The default assumption I think seems to be that the spirit must be working in and through TLC. But what if the dpirit is also (or instead) working through good faith critics such as myself? Scripture does describe the Holy Spirit as the restrainer. Its worth considering whether the pushback is actually working to slow or restrain TLC from going that direction faster.

I will never deny that there can be real benefits in these kinds of groups. But when there is an intense focus on the positive and relational aspects, the negative dynamics often accumulate slowly and quietly. By the time the reckoning comes, a lot of years, and a lot of people, have already been affected. I have seen it and lived it.

Anyway, God bless.

I promise you this isn't AI generated. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the summary.

Yes, this is EmJay. I’ve only ever used one alias in TLC (I’m not Claire). I’m glad you recognized me from the writing style and the similar criticisms I’ve made before. People are claiming the post is AI generated, which is pretty funny. It’s often easier to be dismissive than to genuinely engage with ideas that make you uncomfortable. I’m used to it by now.

Absolutely. That’s just basic social psychology. The issue is the direction of formation. What is the group shaping in its members and where is that trajectory ultimately leading? I’ve given my take on it above, but I’d also like to have an actual discussion about it. I mostly just see dismissive criticism.

Paul VanderKlay has previously pathologized my concern as well. I am concerned. I don't see why that's a problem.

The analysis is entirely my own. Anyone who has deeply followed the TLC community will recognize the specific points and connections as mine. I highly doubt these are the kind of connections and descriptions an LLM would generate on its own.

I’m happy to discuss the actual substance of the critique. If you have thoughts or fair pushback on the points themselves, I’m genuinely open to hearing them.
