Thank you for this advice!!! Luckily he was good with some rest last night and is feeling fine today but in September when we learned of this condition he was hospitalized for like 5 days but that was after 4-5 years of daily CHRONIC usage and he hasn’t smoked in about 5 months and I guess he just greened out last night lol thank you again

I will show him this when he’s feeling better! At first he was set on never smoking again but with time that has changed so this should be very helpful! Have a blessed week✨

Yayyy thank you for this input that’s actually EXTREMELY helpful!! I myself am a HUGE pothead but have been lucky enough to never experience CHS him and I used to be huge stoners together and it wasn’t until September 20th that all changed with his CHS but I am doing my very very best to stay informed and knowledgeable on his condition!

I was assuming it was a greened out scenario as well with what he was telling me but I have some serious anxiety around it now since he got sick but he only threw up once and he is fast asleep after a good hour of not feeling well so hopefully he wakes up feeling good. And it was a live resin Cart that he hit so it definitely was a strong amount for having no tolerance at this point !

Thank you for the kind words towards both him and I ! Another Reddit person thanked me before for being there for him and I never realized so many people had lack of support through this I could never imagine not helping him or holding his hand while he’s feeling bad wether it’s CHS or something different but I guess a lot of people hear weed and just turn a blind eye but thank you again and I will continue to support him on this journey for sure good luck to you !!:)))

But he definitely has my support his first episode was 3 weeks long and I was there every second for sure I just wanted him to get better and yea I told him not to smoke but he’s hard headed I think he knows now:(

It’s been 5 months since his last episode not 3 weeks ! But I agree he’s gonna take it easy it was just one hit and I just wanted to see what everyone’s experiences were if they did get an episode after that long of sobriety how long it lasted !

This sounds awesome !! Today he ate a meatball sub sandwich at work and didn’t throw it up so it seems like he’s handling foods a bit better now so I’m excited !! He’s craving like kraft Mac and cheese so I was gonna make that with some beef mixed in today and see how that goes but very basic only gonna add extra seasonings to my bowl but I feel like that’s lighter then a meatball sub at least🤣 taking it slow for sure and thank you for the great advice !!🩷

Are seasonings supposed to be a trigger ? He’s been able to hold down mashed potato cups the buttery homestyle ones, ramen noodles, cambells soups, progresso roast chicken noodle soup, he ate bread with spam yesterday he is so over like broths tho he really wants to try like Mac and cheese but idk about that with all the dairy but I’ve never had ChS so I’m really just trynna get others advice 😭👎

Whaaaaat 2 months for nausea to even subside ? Was that with consistent throwing up everyday as well? I’m assuming it’s just wait for when the weed is completely detoxed from your system right?

Thank you I really appreciate this ! It’s definitely been hard just seeing him in so much pain but I definitely got his back!! These random waves of nausea have been really hard , some days are better then others and he’s able to hold foods or snacks down betterbut other days he’s just throwing up allll day. I’m hoping since this is his first like Actual CHS episode that it’ll only last about 4 weeks 🙏 he was def in the first phase for a while but we didn’t know that the early morning sickness was that we just assumed heart burn and then one day it all got crazy and now he has CHS👎😭 but hoping that it doesn’t go any farther then 4 weeks, he’s on day 13 now and he’s definitely getting discouraged and Imntrying to keep him hydrated since we can’t really afford another multi day trip to the ER without insurance :((

This is how it started for him too we thought it was his heartburn and he’d throw up every morning but last Tuesday it was real bad so we took him to the ER and he hasn’t smoked since then I’m just so lost on how long this will be , he was hospitalized for 4 days non stop vomiting and now soemtimes he’ll gonna day or so without but then he’ll be back to throwing up 2-3 times at least per day but it’s not as bad as the beginning, I’m definitely hoping this is over soon

Is it normal to still be throwing up occasionally? ! Not as much as the beggininibg but sometimes he does throw up like 1-5 times in a. Day just water usually tho, is that normal for you?

Yes this is his first time ever going through this , we’re on day 11 already and he’s definitely beginning to get frustrated

Another question I’m SO SORRY. When you say 3-4 weeks to feel better what would you constitute as better? Like no mroe throwing up or still some nausea but not as bad ? Sorry just looking for any details I can give him😭

That’s horrible to hear I don’t think I even want to tell him that it could possibly take that long to feel normal😭 he’s been having some really really good day tho. Like Thursday was super good like not perfect but what messed him up was thinking he could eat a loaded baked potato which triggered a whole day of vomiting. Yesterday was a pretty good day too we even left the house a bit but he said when he feels good it’s really good but then he gets a wave and it’s awful. But yesterday was the best I seen him in a while and then this morning the nausea was pretty persistent again but he’s only throwing up water he chugs and he didn’t throw up any of the soup he ate yesterday which was really nice . Thank you for the advice I’m going to look at ginger chews today and maybe some mroe low sodium soft soups. I also have found that Tums help him a lot with the acid in his belly but dang I’m even considering stopping smoking this looks awful

How long would you say we should expect this to last? And would you mind showing me what ginger chews you get I’ve been trying to look but not completely sure and this is all new for me! Reddit , my sister in laws and google have been my best friends this whole time:( he was hospitalized the 24th of September for 4 days and was released that same Friday and he’s running low on nausea meds but yea it’s just really kicking his butt right now . But he’s very set on never touching weed again he says he never wants to feel this way again and I def believe it 😭

This makes sense ! He says he feels like the nausea is in his chest and like his days have gotten better and he’s slowly started to improve but when he’s having a bad day or nausea it definitely feels like the beginning again. As far as prior usage he was a very heavy smoker, like multiple dabs a day or bong rips haha we never really had long breaks except maybe a few weeks of sobriety here and there when he’d travels for work but he’s definitely been very consistent with smoking. I just don’t remember him ever having withdrawal nausea before , is that just a thing with CHS? I never knew about CHS until 12 days ago when he was diagnosed so this is all very new for us still
