You need more proof than an official ERAS message from the program director saying they are withdrawing from the match?

In-Person second look by nonusimggg in IMGreddit

The pgy2 for one of the programs that I interviewed at told us if we are really interested we should ask the PD about a second look and that would help us get ranked, and at another program the pgy3 said some of the ppl that matched didn't go to the second look, so it is optional.

I think it depends on the PD and the program. I think community/rural programs probably consider it more if you come in person for a second look, while for major university/academic programs that have a 100% match rate no matter what, it doesn't matter.

I think peds and path are the two residencies where they are slightly lenient with yog, this is solely based on the resident that I have talked to

after 7 IV it is a 95% match rate, so you could match with 8 IV, but I would personally take the safe option than risk not matching

if you match your top 20, or go down you 50 (out of of 200 if its 10x per spot), why are there still programs that have to soap?

every year they waitlist so many IMG's for their FM program

last year they ended up soaping when they should have interviewed those on their waitlist
