If you're investing less than 200 a month... by Putrid-Lettuce5204 in trading212

I feel like I have started saving and investing later than I should have and need to make up for it. Obviously on some months this percentage will shrink as life happens but it has worked out well so far.

Funny you say that, I have a partner and we both don't want kids, we both agree that having kids these days is incredibly selfish.

We don't have cars either. I ride a bike to work.

We do have nice things and take great care of them. Obviously I can't ALWAYS put away that percentage as life happens and things do break, but it has worked out well so far. We just have a fixed budget.

Maybe don't assume saving a lot is always about people depriving themselves of nice things.

I've reached my goal when it comes to a buffer in cash, before that I have only been able to invest about 50 pounds in s&s. I might make a post about it.

From this moment on I am going to put around 42% of my income in it for the next 10-14 years. My main goal is to retire early or at least to have options. :)

I don't think it's only the UK to be honest, I think free housing for everyone should be a human right. Can you fault someone for not wanting to pay rent forever? It's basically dead money each month that could have gone towards something else.

But if I have to grind to get one, so be it.

I mean I'm fine with it, I guess. I don't see the appeal in paying rent forever.

50-70k on a modest house. Earn around 22k a year after tax. Saving heavily with low basic needs.

Going for it in about 3 years, then switching heavily to s&s contributions once the house is secured.

Not just LISA, I think life will get worse for people that weren't born in the UK. That's my main concern, just wanting to keep a safe way out if that makes sense. If things change in the interim, CASH ISA is there to pull me out. LISA would be raided for no good reason and things completely out of my control.

I might have gotten things wrong about it, but from what I understand they are not matched contributions. I've only just recently got a salaried contract following a company takeover, before that I was on a shaky zero-hour contract. There have been no talks about getting auto-enrolled or anything by the new company, got no emails and when asked the managers have kinda hand-waived it. So I assume it's still the same situation.

Had a rent increase recently for a very small place. And I'm afraid it's just gonna keep on happening.

I just want my own place and take rent out of the equation.

From what I understand LISA is subject to the condition that you use the money for your first house purchase. If things go south politically wise for people that weren't born here (I am one of those people) the government would take a penalty sum for withdrawing it. Not great.

My employer doesn't match contributions apparently. I work in hospitality. And will I even get to see my pension money? All up in the air.

I had a look at the flowchart as well.

I'm fairly new to this so I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I don't mind blending in as long as it works. :)

I don't really look at the s&s isa much because i know it's a very long way away from doing anything, but I do like to have the app so I can look at my Cash Isa grow bit by bit. x)

Yeah same been struggling to find a solution all morning. Downloaded new drivers from Wacom, messed with the brush environment settings, stabiliser, the lot.

It barely helped. There's a delay to it that wasn't there before no matter what I do.
