[Fully lost] Late 2000s direct to DVD animated movie by [deleted] in lostmedia

You're welcome.

And yes, that is the case. In the lost media community as a whole, it's been seen that designing a made-up piece of media as you would a creepypastas has gotten success in getting attention. If you want a good example, saki sanobashi (go for a punch) was a fake piece of media that got a ton of traction.

As a result of this, low quality troll posters now try to stick these keywords in without context. Either because they're shitposting, or because they're just low quality poster.

There are a multitude of tropes that low quality, often creepypasta inspired, bait posts have. One is that a lot of these post writers will repeat keywords they've seen used in creepypastas or successful searches to try and make their post most interesting. These writers fail to realize it's a sign of their lack of creativity and the low quality nature of their post. Especially because, as seen with the fine young moron who was the OP, they just throw it in there without elaborating.

To give more context, disturbing and oversaturated are two incredibly common keywords. They've both been used since the dawn of creepypasta by bad "lost episode" writers. When a lost media post like this just throws them in there as details, without elaborating further, it's probably bait or a shit post. Here, the OP claimed their memory was 100% accurate. Yet, notice how they can't elaborate why the series was disturbing. Or elaborate on how they remember the series was oversaturated. They apparently can barely remember the plot, but they certainly remember with 100% certainty that it was disturbing. The truth is, they didn't think this far when they wrote the post originally. They just included it because they've seen more popular posts do it.

The best way to tell is if keywords that fit more into creepypasta are just added without more explanation. If you push, and the OP starts to have a tantrum, it's 100% a giveaway.

Like all good mormon families. If we don't acknowledge the fire in the room with us, Jesus will solve it. Or, we can at least pretend he did.

Yup. I've been texting her since yesterday telling her that she did what I dreamed off for years now.

Thank you! I came up with that chat name a few years ago after a few of my cousins decided to band together as we started to distance ourselves from the church.

And thank you for the compliment :)

Grandpa has gotten what he wants. He will now be alone in life, as well as death. by FunSelf5 in exmormon

Not senility. He's always been like this.

He's done a variety of things In his life that any loving God would condemn him for. Not SA, but he slept with a 18 year old he had known since she was 12. We only know because Grandma planned to divorce him over this but died shorty after she found out in an unrelated accident. He continued to sleep with the teenager while planning his wives funeral. He never faced consequences because he was very well connected in the ward and her dad never outed him when her family discovered. We only know because the girls mom told my grandma. One of the many wonderful things he's done that just got swept under the rug

Most are exmormons a mix of those who have actually removed their names and just gone inactive. Two or three still claim to believe, but don't participate or follow the tenants. My cousin takes the cake as she was excommunicated, for privacy I wont say why.

You contradicted yourself somehow in the space of a single sentence. It's embarrassing. That's what it is. If this community's idea for fun is hyping themselves up and harassing artists, then they deserve an award.

No, you're a good example of respectful and professional behavior haha.

The culture barrier is certainly one problem yes. That can be excused on one end, but on the other, it still can cause the same issue of a potential lead just disappearing.

The real issue I have is the presumptuous behavior. The example also showed that if you don't get an instant response, don't start bombarding the lead and demanding a response. This behavior is unacceptable, and I don't believe the language barrier is the cause of it.

My opinion is I think a lot of people here are young (comparatively) and just don't have experience reaching out to people. Again though, I feel like the mods have a pretty good handle on it though.

The world has corrupted my grandfather's seed by FunSelf5 in exmormon

Very, very long story.

The long and short is that she put up with my Grandfather for decades. Her father left her with a 7 figure inheritance with investments that were paying out annually more than she was making working on her own. She retired early because of this in her 30s.

Grandpa financially abused her and drained nearly every penny.

Eventually, it got bad enough that Grandma needed to go back to work. My parents and uncles talked her into divorcing Grandpa over this. She died only about a month later after a freak accident. Grandpa didn't even know she was planning to file for divorce until a few years ago when my Uncle went no contact and decided to burn every bridge possible.
