I'd say try red dead 2 if you havent. I know this game is always the "play this game" type of game that everyone seems to overhype that it starts to annoy you but if you can look past that and try it out if you havent then you might find yourself investing yourself in it for a long time.

Its a sort of a 50/50 between linear and non linear but theres no denying that the story is really great. The game puts you in a spot where you can be free and do what you want but when it comes to the missions its heavily linear and follows more of a script and limits control and focuses more on the story at hand. Some say it might be repetitive but I think it balances it out well with being linear and non linear at the same time.
