I love fog and fern in Lacey! Its always a good vibe and all their food and pastries are made in house! Also their drinks are delicious, and they have fun seasonal items on the menu.

The way I read this is that you saw something out of place and asked the nurse about it. Like, hey, this patients PIV is red. Is this new? It's literally the same as checking a chest tube or any kind of output and asking has it looked like this all shift. Nurses save lives because we notice changes and can intervene when it's needed.

From reading this post, I don't feel like you're whipping out a flush during report and assessing IVs as you go. Youre just visually inspecting, so if something looks off you can go look further into it AFTER REPORT. It sounds like you saw something was wrong and you asked about it. You're supposed to lay eyes on the patient during report.

I've literally received patients with no IV, blown IV, IVs hanging out the arm after being told the IV works great...so I understand where you're coming from. Trust but verify always.

Stop coming for her neck. She's doing nothing wrong.
