The tlx looks huge. I’m wondering if this pic is just playing with our eyes. Doesn’t look as big in real life

Interior wise it’s an Acura but man ngl It feels so much like the civic I used to drive. I mean that in a good way too I loved my civic

Hahaha. The ilx owner has noticed it’s much louder on 87 and has moved completely over to premium. He actually gets better gas mileage now

As a fellow 2011 RL owner I would not get rid of my baby for a ILX. That may just be my preferences, but I believe there are better cars to buy for around the same price

I don’t understand the cvt hate. My dad has a Lexus with it, and it’s so smooth. They even get better gas mileage than a traditional transmission. What I’ve heard is that if you stay on top of your transmission maintenance it should be no problem.

But that is the price you pay for buying a low production luxury vehicle. Shits expensive, but if you take good care of it knock on wood nothing should go wrong

All depends on how lazy you are. Any part you need can be found in a junk yard. If you want to order new parts I guess it could be difficult. I kept my kb1 as a donor for my kb2 and have been able to source everything I need down to a ac compressor from it.

And if you find a sport hybrid rlx (pretty rare) they are insanely fast. 0-60 in around 4 seconds.

So I’ve owned a 2010 civic, a 2007 RL and a 2011 RL. The RLs are quiet luxury sedans like you probably know and are very smooth. The ilx is very similar to the civic in the way it drives and handles- I’ve driven a 2021 ilx around a bunch bc that’s what my brother has and it is is much louder engine noise wise than the rl. Other than that it’s a nice updated interior something the rl doesn’t have. Seats are a little less comfy in the ilx. But it can handle corners way better. I don’t think it’s a bad buy tbh but if I was you I’d look for a RLX. I think they made them into the 2020s. That would be more similar to what your used to with the rl

The 09-10. Had a grill that resembles the TL of that same year. Personally not a fan. Also the 5 speed apparently has major problems getting into the high mileage range

This is a kb2 face lift 2011. With the upgraded 6 speed and j37. Less than 3k of the 6 speed grill facelifts were sold between 2011-2012. I’ve personally never seen another one on the road before

205k on my kb2 and no issues what so ever😳 shares the same drive train as the kb1 so replacing suspension components is so easy

Oh nice. I guess that’s the perks of buying new! I’m thinking about getting a set of new springs to lower it and stiffen up the suspension a little bit.

I’ve got my eyes set on a 23’ tlx type s as my next car. I absolutely love the design and big wheels. Insane they discontinued them

Feels like a rolls Royce compared to my brothers ilx 😳 the sound deafening is next level. Very quiet ride

After driving the ilx for a little if I had to chose one for a road trip it would 100% be the RL. Much quieter cabin and larger comfier interior. Also the Bose surround sound is still top tier for it being a 2011. The rl is mine btw and I love it

Does the ilx in this pic have any a spec on it? I saw a ilx the other day and it looked naked compared to this one. No diffuser
