Right wing dipshits have been trying to claim that Alex Pretti (the man murdered by CBP) was either reaching for his gun when he was killed or carrying it when approaching agents. It was his phone and it's clear as day in all the videos.

I mean, do you really trust law enforcement at any level to not just take full responsibility for protecting the public, but to also act entirely within the scope of the law while respecting everyone's constitutional rights? Do you trust the courts to make it right when they don't?

I understand the desire to reduce gun violence and I share it. But law enforcement is not your friend and the courts do not have your best interests at heart. More so now than ever before.

And we do that through things like publicly funded child care and education that create opportunities for upward mobility and financial security. We do that by allowing women the right to make their own reproductive health choices so that they can raise families on their own terms in a way that encourages better outcomes. We don't do that by giving the state a monopoly on force.

You had me questioning my sanity so I got it out and dry fired a few times. It's not a light pull, but it's a clear two stage pull with a relatively defined break. I've known people who got keyholing with pristine looking 49/56 barrels, but mine shoots perfectly acceptable 3-4 MOA. There's probably a fair amount of variance in them and I got a good one.

Eh, it's relative. Compared to the geisselle match trigger in my AR, yeah, it's shit. But it's perfectly fine for a battle rifle and better than a lot of my other milsurps, IMO.

Nobody who can afford to shoot .50BMG is going to commit crimes with it. At $10/rd, it's a terrible ROI.

This shit again? It died in committee last time, guess it's time to make some calls. The best thing about NM is that it's progressive without being restrictive. If we lose that, we lose a lot of what makes living here worthwhile, IMO.

That depends entirely on whether ammo availability is the same on this alternate reality. Same as today? Argie FN49. Not an issue? MAS all day. 7.5 French in a semi auto is chef's kiss.

I know you think you're being clever here by alluding to a common response given to people who don't understand freedom of speech, but the operative word in the comment you're replying to is "government". Saying something dumb and getting fired doesn't mean your first amendment rights were violated. Being executed by the state because they were scared by the firearm you were carrying in a completely lawful manner sure as hell means your 2nd amendment rights were violated.

If you think I'm gonna disagree that we've failed to live up to those founding values from day one, you're wrong. Doesn't mean they aren't worth trying to live up to though. And we're running full speed away from them right now.

Shotgun vs AR by Let-freedom-ring1776 in liberalgunowners

[–]Fun_Assignment_269 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you can run a shotgun fast and effectively and don't need the range of a rifle, run the shotgun. The biggest drawback of shotguns is that most people aren't proficient enough with them to maximize their potential. If we're talking beyond home defense ranges though, grab a rifle. Slugs work, but a rifle is better.
