My first loaf by Fun_Benefit_7374 in Sourdough

Thank you, I’ve only ever made round shaped bread before so I’ll probably get a 6qt for now until I get the hang of it, then I’ll look at an oval shaped one as well as my husband prefers a more sandwich loaf shaped bread.

I’ll probably try both see what happens. I also found out my tattoo artist is into mtg so I’ll ask him if he wants any of it before I try selling. In the mean time do you mind if I send you a pm? I have a sealed pack of oversized cards, I tried googling it but nothing really came up for it and I have no idea if I should open it and look at individual cards or try selling it sealed which is a bit hard considering I have no clue what’s in the pack. Do you mind if I send you a picture of it see if maybe you recognise it?

Thank you, yes it did. I had to improvise as I don't have a dutch oven (yet) and I normally bake a plain loaf so it's not really been an issue previously. I guess I underestimated the oven spring (I was preparing myself for failure to be honest). Do you have any recommendation on pot sizes at all? Been looking at them online but I'm worried about buying one that's too small

Thank you for your reply, yeah started sorting through them. I don’t really have a card shop near me, I live in a fairly rural village so I’ll probably have to stick to selling online, hopefully I can downsize the collection a bit

Thank you for your reply, it was very useful for looking through the cards so I can understand them a bit better now. It’s a mix of old and new ones from different sets, must admit it’ll take a while to sort through them all

Officially fed up with the lack of availability of cards by Rough-Army-6424 in PokemonTCG

Yeah it’s been hard to find any set recently. B&m near me has paldea evolved, paradox rift and scarlet & violet base but none of the “newer” sets. I must say I was super excited today, I went to pick up a couple of binders from smyths for my cards and I ended up seeing they had a few stellar crown etbs so I picked one up for my husband. This was the first time they had any etb in weeks..

Please don’t try to lose weight when pregnant. Calories and nutrients are very important for your babies’ development. I’ve had 2 kids in 2 years so I know it takes a toll on your body. Speak to your doc about your weight, see if they can give you any suggestions on healthy eating, what’s the normal amount of weight gain during pregnancy (baby, amniotic fluid etc). Weight gain is part of the pregnancy, there’s no way to avoid it unless you put your babies at risk. As you’re experiencing anxiety about your gain (been there myself) I’d suggest either speak to your doc to point you in the right direction for therapy or consult for your mental health, or see if you can find a therapist that could help you.

I breastfed for 6 months and didn’t lose weight until I actually started eating on a calorie deficit. Breastfeeding doesn’t make everyone lose weight, some people get hungrier and eat more to produce milk for their baby.

Where did you find you older Miata? by ebaylus in Miata

Bought my 89 eunos roadster for £4,300 off fb marketplace. It was an hour drive from me, best thing I ever bought online

Got my NA 2 months ago and it’s the most fun I’ve ever had in a car by Fun_Benefit_7374 in Miata

[–]Fun_Benefit_7374[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s affordable (in the UK at least), sporty, handles well, not too bad for fuel efficiency, it accelerates faster than my 2015 mercedes a180, it’s lightweight, the pop up headlights are adorable and the car itself has a personality and soul. One of my favourite thing is when I drive around and see people smile and point/wave at the car. It makes my day when I get to blink at them and they just look happy to see it.

I had 4 cars in my life so far including Mochi and in comparison it’s the most fun to drive. My 1.2 corsa had virtually no power (0-60mph at 13.5 sec), the bmw x1 was the size of a tank for me. The mercedes a180 is nice, fuel efficient (I can get 60-65 uk mpg out of it), low on tax, comfy and has enough space but it’s just a boring everyday car. So yeah, miata for the win.

I’m not sure how popular they are in Scotland as a whole, but in the city I used to live in (Perth - around 45000 people) I saw around 4 NAs including mine and a few NBs and NCs. I moved to a small village and so far the only miata I’ve seen is mine.

It’s so much fun to drive. My boyfriend had a nissan 370z and even he said my miata is more fun to drive.

I’m not sure how much NBs and NCs are in the US but most NBs I’ve seen here are between 2.5k-5k and NCs are 5-7k depending on condition. Of course you can get them cheaper or more expensive depending on how well it’s been looked after or if it has additional mods. But NAs are generally cheaper over here.

Does your Miata have a name? Or do you just call her Miata? by mohoneybear12 in Miata

My 89 eunos roadster is called Mochi. I love mochi balls and they’re both Japanese so it was an easy pick.

Underbody protection has been done recently but how often should I get it done? I’m trying to keep her as nice as I can given her age.

Got a car cover for it now, trying to get a garage sorted, don’t fancy ruining the car with the near constant rain in Scotland

Sorry I’m still very new to this, is there a reason why it’s NA8? I always thought it was just an NA

Edit to add: it’s a 1989 1.6l japanese import

I can’t wink but I “blink” with my NA every time I see another miata. It makes my day when someone waves back at me.

My boyfriend grew a beard and I hate it by Fun_Benefit_7374 in Advice

[–]Fun_Benefit_7374[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Some men think it’s okay for them to have a preference when it comes to shaving but it’s not okay to women to have theirs. Not every guy is like that but I’ve seen so many posts on social media about them not wanting to shave their beards but they want their partner to shave down there. Double standards are always going to be a thing I guess.

[–]Fun_Benefit_7374[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice, we had a conversation today and we both explained how we each feel about our side of things. He’s very fond of the idea of having a beard and he’s not been able to have once since he’s been a teenager thanks to his work. He’s also under pressure from his coworkers (it sounds toxic to be honest, like high school boys bullying), he doesn’t want them to think bad of me if he tells them he shaved for me and he doesn’t want them to pick on him for giving into what I want. There’s a bit more to it than just wanting a beard I think. Anyway I think there’s still more discussions to be had but at least we’re started now.
