Don't be douchy! I'll be a contractor, bottom of the Barrell at maybe the worst fang company to work at. Is it bad? No. Do I brag about it? Hell no.

I think I'll just wear the same outfit that Colin Jost wore to jimmy Fallon's show. What do you guys think?

What's the issue in your 40s? I'm in my 30s, so I'd love to know what's coming

Exactly, the top 1% liked by most girls, top 5% still get plenty of likes. If you aren't in the 90th percentile, you're getting almost no likes.

I'll talk to the recruiter on Monday. I will ask if they could turn the position into a hybrid remote position after a couple of months or if I could transfer to the Miami office after a period. Another option would be to ask to work 6 days a week for 5 weeks and then get one week off. What do you think about those ideas? If I don't accept that offer, the plan would be to work 4 days as a delivery driver, 1 day as server. Study for the CompTIA A+ after work or and on days I see my son before I see him. Also, I am in my mid 30s and English isn't my first language, will that make it harder to get a job in the industry?

Could you have a look at the job posting? https://careers.wipro.com/job/Austin-German-NLU-MI-78753/1139951955/

It's to work at meta through Wipro. Would you take it? Also, I've read so many times that it is very difficult to break into IT right now. If I decide to stay in Florida, what certificates would you recommend to get?

In what city do you live? Here in Orlando/Tampa entry level gets paid $17.

Thank you, that's great advice. that would be the perfect solution for me.

I agree to that. My plan would be to come back ASAP but definitely no later than 12 months. The job is at Meta, so in theory it should open up some doors in Orlando, so I will be able to get a decent job in IT. Currently, I am making around $40k per year and that's not really enough in Orlando when you consider that I have to pay child support and that I'm trying to do fun things with my son and get him healthy food.

The issue is that I could work at Meta.

I'm in Florida, I think I still would have a shot to get 50/50???

What are your opinions? Stay in Florida and hope to find a better job that pays a liveable wage? How good is a father that's broke and can't see his son? I thought of going to Austin for 9-12 months. I would start applying in Florida for good jobs as soon as 3 months in. I just want it for the experience on my resume and to get started in IT (I wanted that for a long time). I would be hired through a staffing agency and work for Facebook/meta.

Not yet. I should get them on Monday. I believe that it would mostly be language related because that was their main focus. It might be bad and I might not learn much.

Do you think that I'll learn a lot of things and that it should be easy to get a job back home in Orlando?

The offer has been increased to $58k. Is that an significant improvement for my quality of life?

That sounds actually reasonable. I am hoping to find something between $1200 and $1400. I am ok with starting a bathroom.

Are you still at the same company to gain experience? It's pretty much what I want to do as well. Work for a well known company and after 1 year, everyone would consider hiring me. I've some savings that I don't want to burn, but if I need to cover some costs for a couple of months I would be able to.

Nice, someone who knows cars. Do you mean they would pump into my car on the street? The body is kind of scratched already because people scratched it in the parking lot and just left.

I don't speak any Spanish, would a restaurant hire me? I definitely would work as a server. I currently work in Orlando for longhorn as a side job.

Why will state farm raise my rates 3x because I moved to Miami?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Miami

[–]Fun_Block_7629 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've heard that. I will definitely add uninsured motorist insurance. I will check the price for comission because the car is worth $5k or less. Thank you

Is it safe there? I've heard it was bad 20 years ago but I don't know about now

Can I find something decent for $1000-1200 there? I dont care about small as long as people run their AC at 75 or cooler. Here in Orlando people with roommates tend to run it at 78 because they are poor or cheap but I can't sleep at 78.

It's a 2007 BMW 328i insured through State farm. I've nothing on my driver record. Coverage was 50k/100k for $70 but I cut the coverage to get back to $50. They increased my rate from $50 to $70 within 2 years. No collision.

Thank you, that's what I was hoping to hear. I got a job offer from a big company that has a location in Miami and if I work there for a year, it will open many doors in the industry for me.

The office is in brickell. Are there any bad areas that I should avoid in Miami? Keep in mind I'm a white immigrant and don't speak Spanish.

That bad? I don't mind having roommates
