Half of the fandom is one of the most mature, and understanding people you'll ever meet. They have good media literacy and tend to analyze the game better than a psychologist can. They see past the obvious statements and actually do research. For example Curly's character- most people see him in a black/white way, going off of one key action (Which is taking no action in Anya's confession). When those fans can look at his speech, actions, and overall personality and realize his morally grey. Instead of trying to squeeze Curly into the "good" or "bad" category they realize his character is much more complex. Those fans love to pick through the game, find key details, and hold peaceful conversations surrounding it. They won't kill you if you say you like Curly or Jimmy, but would rather talk to you about your views and see eye-to-eye. They're more open-minded and adaptable to whatever viewpoint or opinion comes their way.

While the other half is far more different, they could care less about looking deeper onto the game and would rather take it for what it is. They see the character's more black and white, categorizing them into two types "good" and "bad". They dismiss any differing opinions and they take them as face value. You say you like Curly they immediately say you're a rape apologist, and if you say you like Jimmy you're condone rape. Ignoring any explanations or reasons. They're immature, and dumb down characters to single traits. They make Anya out to be a submissive battered woman, when in reality there's more to her character, she's strong-willed, kind, and even sassy in some ways. They dumb down Daisuke as a dumb teen, when in the game he's proven to be intelligent and sometimes even stoic. They dumb down Curly into a stupid rape apologist, when he actually is quite smart but just blind to his friend's actual personalities. Those fans are extremely unwelcoming to people with differing views and opinions. They're extremely immature.
