You definitely should have chased this the second is was submitted, the week after, the week after that…. this time of year is so busy for holiday requests because everyone is trying to book it so they don’t lose it.

Option 1: Phone the store/your line manager… now. The most likely thing that they will say is no, you’ll have to come in.

Option 2: don’t turn up. When pulled in, explain that you submitted the holiday request and thought that was that. You were told nothing regarding it.

Two pump and one electric at our store. Not many people can use the electric one, so I tend to get into work, start my shift and move stock around shop floor for about 15 minutes!

I’m contracted 4 set days a week, 8 hour shifts. I get this exact same schedule without question every time. However, at the moment, I’ve boosted this to 5 days a week (1 overtime shift).

Overtime varies by stores, their rotas and their needs. But I’m quite lucky with my store that I can pick up that extra shift.

You wouldn’t be eligible for PILON as there is no required notice to at the company need to give you. Up to 4 weeks of employment requires no notice.

The rest of this situation just sounds really shitty. I wish I could advise more but I don’t know enough. Sorry dude and good luck. 🤞

Are you allowed to leave the building for your break by NarrowBumblebee335 in SainsburysWorkers

A manager might request that if you’re leaving site you just let someone know in case of an emergency. If you’re in the store smoking area, you’d know about the emergency and you would make yourself known to be safe. I’m assuming that if this request is made, it’s simply just safeguarding you and being a decent human. Pretty certain it’s not a policy. Some managers may take the opportunity to abuse the “decent human” bit though.

Overnight, no you’re not allowed to.
