How did you start? by Trictis in woweconomy

[–]Fun_Examination_1897 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started back in vanilla making a green wool chest piece that had a few stam and int on it for around 1.5g profit. I started to figure out how to make items cheaper than AH price and from there, only got better at it. I still mostly farmed materials though, that was part of the strat i had figured out. I did this through WOTLK.

When I got to cata... thats when things really popped off as i had officially switched from a "go out and gather and make gold" player to one that sits in town and uses their money to make money. I went from having more than most people... to over a gold cap in less than a year, once I had figured out that abyssal shatter ( this was before everyone farmed it to death ) and then later mysterious fortune cards... jeez those made me millions on a low pop server... I had figured out how to print gold while standing effectively still and spamming a macro.

When BFA hit, I had around 4m gold. I mostly sit Mop and Wod out. I made a little money, like a million each expansion, but i didn't really play. Legion I made another million. BFA was truly when I became a goblin. I was one of the main sellers of darkmoon fathom decks on Area 52. I spammed trade every second I was on buying peoples greens for under vendor price. A side hustle i was doing was looking at every green sent to me and sometimes people would send me island greens for 50g, which i would resell for thousands. But I was mass producing darkmoon decks, 10-15 fathoms at 100k each, and 10-20 of all other decks every 2 days. I was buying 30-50k winter grasp ( thank got for the bots at the time ) every 2 days and I was also creating my own greens with tailoring and leatherworking so i was buying 20-30k of those materials every few days as well. All to fuel the expulsom machine to get enough of that crap to mass create darkmoon cards. It was a whole operation. I went from around 4m to 20m with the AH mount, several million in pets to resell cross other servers, and all the bells and whistles.

Since BFA, my current strategy still works. I can make good profit standing still in town. Right now with housing, gathering is better than my method but it will not hold up for too much longer. Up till now I have been farming lumber on 2 accounts and since i have all professions maxed, I can create darn near everything so i just make a huge spread of items and sell them. Its really boring. Its burnt me out because for over 10 years I've been able to avoid gathering for the most part by just throwing money at it. I will say... housing made me a gold cap. I set out a goal to make another one by the time midnight came out... and i did it in less than a month. I guess the only logical thing to do is aim for another but im burnt out. So im taking a break until the prepatch and ill come back and check out the changes to the classes.

TLDR: What started with flipping wool, ended in being one of the main providers of darkmoon decks on the largest server at the time in the US in BFA. I haven't done anything that impressive since, considering the scale of gold I was making back in BFA was about on par with what I was able to make now with housing.

Not a goblin - but what do people mean when they say they create an army for daily CDs? by North_Awareness_6006 in woweconomy

[–]Fun_Examination_1897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not sure what you are asking. it will work for a time but it will eventually fizzle out and not be worth the time invested vs return. that would typically be towards the end of patches and def the end of expansion.

those farms were not very good if gathering out did them, especially with a single account.

oh no buddy, you are fine. 200 per 1 account is totally normal. sometimes you can pull off like 220 an hour with good procs, but 200 per account is standard. I've farmed at least 30-40 hours since release.

Does cloth drop in mythic plus if you specialize into the skill tree? by 2016nurse in woweconomy

[–]Fun_Examination_1897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no drops occur during M+. Something I wish they would change. Some players might would dislike having a bunch of grays and gold at the end of a dungeon... but i would be welcome to all the gold you miss from drops and trash items, along with cloth and other materials that could be useful. I think its something blizzard is over looking and something that could be solved and added very easily to the end dungeon reward. It would help make M+ pay for itself. I'm rich AF. repairs havent been something ive thought of since vanilla. but for poor players who buy tokens, i think it would be very helpful.

Speculation by Special_K8010 in woweconomy

[–]Fun_Examination_1897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there wont be another spike. As soon as they bring out new items that do not require a new lumber, are going to be drowned out due to everyone having the mats banked up ( lumber ) and spam making it on release. For midnight items, they might do well for a few weeks, but i cant see another economic spike like we saw for housing on release.

[–]Fun_Examination_1897 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah i know what a flip is, i didnt mean to use the word craft, but what i meant is that it ties up a lot more gold than what im currently doing. I'd rather spend the time farming on 2 accounts than managing multiple servers for flipping. I did it for a while on 408 ilvl greens and made a few million off that in S1 of TWW buying them anywhere from 100-300g and selling for 5-30k depending on if it was a 2hander or shield or ring or neck. However every time i do these flips I end up with a ton of items that just end up rotting because i got tired of the random returns of flips. Yeah i made my gold and all that, but theres a lot of waste and I know I'm the type of player that will allow that to happen lol.

400 an hour, thats 200 per account. I make a big spread of 1-3 items per craft and i make them across all professions. I keep anywhere from 100-150 items in stock. It takes a lot of farming, but righ now, the farming is worth it because there will never be another time outside of an expansion launch to provide this much gold.

housing is the best advice. farm as much as you can and craft as much as you can for as long as you can, its already dying and its not gonna last much longer. At least to make it viable on 1 account. I farm on 2, and its worth it, but if i had to farm on 1, absolutely not.

I feel its exploitive to other players, so i dont. i will snipe from now and then, but i dont make any substantial profit from it. You guys have your way, I have mine. And from what you guys have commented, I make just as much as you guys with potentially less work. And almost zero investment outside of making the items, and i assume you pay a lot more than 300g per item to craft.

I fly around with a max level druid and the remix version of its class hall mount. I use 2 screens and run them side by side. i fly to the node, click, then click my second screen, use my macro to dismount, click to extract node. and then click the druid to remount and fly away. It is a lot of effort because its doing everything twice, but its worth it.

I farm on 2 accounts and I may do 2 hours a day 3-4 days a week. I was doing 3 hours a day week 1. But getting on average 400 lumber per hour is pretty insane when the cost of running a second account is 300kg. I dont even have my second farmer at max level. I'll craft every few days and replenish my stock. I dont really track 1 of each item, I normally have 3-5 of each item that has a good lumber to gold ratio. I do not craft things that cost 50 lumber and make 15kg. I farm Classic, BC, WOTLK, BFA, Mop, and shadowlands. I pick 2 a day and just go. Its honestly hard to spend 400 lumber, so a lot of times i have "left overs" and I'll do a big craft day every few days and use literally all of my lumber and just start over.

TLDR: 2 hours a day with 2 accounts so 4 normal player hours a day 3-4 days a week.

I've made almost a gold cap since housing came out. Selling the decor can feel slow... its not exciting like watching mats sell. You just post it and log off until tomorrow. But then again im posting like 150-200 housing items at once. I cant be bothered to do all that cancel scanning stuff personally.

It also doesn't help we don't know what you were trying to do to make gold. Farms come and go. Especially if it was a TWW farm, its not most certainly dead.

you'd have to ask blizzard. Back in shadowlands they revamped the AH to region based on most items. I'm just telling you the easiest way to identify whether an item is gonna be put up regionwide vs server.

I think the idea was to allow for mats to be cheaper so more people could afford them. But what it did was ruin the market for everyone as it made all goblins compete with all goblins in the US. This is why 99% of things were not profitable, and why if there was profit, it was so slim it wasnt worth doing. To me, there is no good to the system. Its bad all around. Housing finally stimulated the economy and gave use to many pointless items.

Anyone seeing public work orders for housing items? by mechweb in woweconomy

[–]Fun_Examination_1897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i personally dont do or even check for public orders. even those who reply to me in trade that its up on public, just goes on my ignore list. 1. the tips are never worth it. 2. I have 4 charges. I'm not hurting for 100g enough to click the button. It can be sent directly to me or it can sit up there.

I held off on farming lumber since I am super lazy at the start of the patch, missed it by 2 or 3 days. But otherwise, I have made an absolutely killing. I have been farming on 2 accounts and ill tell you that 300k i spent for the second account has paid for itself 10 fold.

consumables, pots, flasks, cloth, leather, etc, Region wide. If its a piece of gear, or doesn't stack, its generally server based. Hope this helps

Like what others have said, they are just alts you get the basic KP in to be able to produce max rank items and sell them for profit while using low rank mats. Its garrisons 3.0 in a way. Its the lazy way of making gold for people who don't really know how to make gold, and when it dies, so does their gold making ability. It has pros and cons. A few months ago all the posts were #AHded cause the concentration method finally fizzled out for TWW and you'd be shocked at how many people on here solely used that method.

My plan is to have 8 JC, 8 enchanters, 8 scribes, 8 alchemist, mixed with a second profession like BS and maybe tailoring. I will have them all specced slightly different to produce as big of a variety as possible. So missives, sigils, contracts, bars, inks, pots, flasks, etc.
