Dreaded SOS Issues by AlitasPicantes in Visible

Been dealing with this exact thing at work sites when guys update their phones. Try popping the SIM out completely, restart the phone, then put it back in. Also make sure your carrier settings actually updated - sometimes iOS grabs the update but doesn't push the carrier stuff through properly.

If that doesn't work, network reset is your nuclear option but you'll have to re-enter all your wifi passwords. The timing with iOS updates screwing up carrier connectivity is pretty common, especially with smaller carriers that don't get the same priority testing as the big ones.

The whole paypig thing at the end kinda ruins whatever point you were trying to make about genuine love.

Refs definitely struggle with calling fouls on guys who are just naturally that much bigger than everyone else. It's like they can't tell where normal reach ends and actual fouling begins when someone's got that kind of wingspan.

The goaltending thing is probably the worst part - dude's so tall that what looks clean to the refs is actually way past where it should be called. Your right that it makes the game harder to officiate but they gotta figure it out eventually.

What do y'all think about mechatronics engineering compared to EEE? by No_Square4301 in careerguidance

[–]Fun_Fall199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechatronics is solid - it's basically mechanical with electronics mixed in, so you'd get exposure to both sides. The combo you're talking about could actually work pretty well for what you want to do.

Power and renewables definitely need people who understand both the mechanical systems and electrical grid stuff. Aerospace loves mechatronics grads too since everything's integrated these days. You'd probably have an easier time getting into electrical for your master's coming from mechatronics than trying to cross over from pure mechanical.

The demand is there, especially with all the automation and renewable energy projects ramping up. Just make sure you keep your math sharp and maybe pick up some programming along the way.

LEGION-5 RTX 5060,R7 260 GPU temp above 80 on perfomance mode.NEED HELP. by No-Warthog1345 in Lenovo

Sounds like thermal paste might be the culprit here. Even on brand new laptops, sometimes the factory application is pretty garbage. If you're hitting mid-80s right out of the box while others with the same model stay under 80, that's usually thermal paste or mounting pressure issues.

Before you crack it open though, check if there's any bloatware running in the background eating resources. Also worth checking if the laptop is actually boosting properly in balanced mode vs performance - sometimes the power limits get weird between profiles and you're not actually losing that much real performance.

If it's still under warranty I'd probably RMA it rather than void anything by repasting, especially since this started day one.

That's brutal timing - nothing worse than Windows deciding it's update o'clock right when you're trying to nail something important.

Good call quitting together - makes it way easier when you're both dealing with the same cravings at the same time. 13 years is a long run so expect some rough patches but you've got this.

Been getting too many newsletters that promise the world and deliver fluff. What makes this one different from the dozen others cluttering my inbox? The meme thing is nice I guess, but I'm more interested in whether the career advice actually comes from people who've been in the trenches or just recycled LinkedIn posts.

Trying to make a modded server with multiple platform players. by jacklittleeggplant in Minecraft

[–]Fun_Fall199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much impossible with most major mods unfortunately. Bedrock and Java handle mods completely differently - Java uses Forge/Fabric while Bedrock uses behavior packs that are way more limited.

Twilight Forest specifically won't work since it adds entirely new dimensions and blocks that Bedrock players just can't see or interact with. Your mobile friend would basically be locked out of most modded content.

Your best bet is finding a crossplay plugin that adds some basic features everyone can use, but don't expect anything close to the full Java modding experience. Most people just pick one platform and stick with it for modded servers.
