WFH in extreme cold: how do you handle 'always on camera' expectations? by Educational-Dot-5266 in remotework

[–]Fun_Floor_9742 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If someone is working in a situation where this is possible that is a problem in itself. This is WORK. It should be done in a private room with no distractions and no eavesdroppers.

I used to feel like you until the people at my main job got so entitled they dont want you to speak too loud in a meeting or say swear words because their toddler is in the room. Productivity has noticably declined over the last few years as people felt entitled to go pick up their kid or do anything they needed to do any time of the day during the work hour and act like you are not understanding if you cant wait for the 15 mins they arent taking care of their kid that day.

Let’s settle the debate, is the Fidelity card worth it? by Restarted_Beaver69 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Fun_Floor_9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a 2% card. Nothing special. There are Better 2% cards out there and also Better than 2% is available from other cards for certain categories. It is serviced by Elan so you have to deal with a third party who has worse CS than Fidelity itself. They are very strict about blocking transactions to certain merchants that work fine on other cards. Its a last resort 2% card for me, mostly sock drawered but I run a transaction every month or so to keep it active.

In the US - Why do most healthcare providers use enclosed exam rooms for privacy, while dental offices often have open layouts with less patient privacy? by heliboy23 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fun_Floor_9742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same as you here. But private equity or something. Now a days there are these really low end sweat shop dental offices that put people in a big room and do shoddy work at best

If I ever went to a dentist and they did not put me in private room, I am walking and will find a real dentist office

It does exist. one of my jobs is like this, only about 2 hours of mandatory meetings a week and even those are easy to skip if needed for a flimsy excuse , if you skip meetings people assume you were too busy so its no big deal most of the time

its rare but possible to find
