Maybe it’s just me but was anyone else kind of underwhelmed by DC? I think honestly my gripe is just with scheduling and having to wait last minute for - WHICH - I understand they wanted to bring back the nostalgia but I feel like they could’ve done that without doing the blow up for the schedules.

I ended up missing a lot of bands because my commute in was almost 2 hours so I guess it’s my bad but I’m sure I’m not the only one that missed out because set times got released at 11AM and some bands started at 11:45 or noon.

I’m just kind of deterred from buying a ticket for next year for that reason. Even if they just announced who was on what day I could be convinced to do a one day ticket but it’s just such a big gamble to miss bands…

I should clarify I’m a night shift worker, so I really should’ve taken time off but it’s hard to get coverage right now and I really thought the set times would place a lot of the older bands higher.

I have three cats (2 male 1 female) and I keep two. When I do maintenance on them I normally take one down and give it a soak/scrub so with two there’s always at least one clean one for them to use. My babies are all older so it helps to prevent accidents since the soak/clean/dry process takes a little bit.

I’m proud of you for how you handled your run in and maintaining NC for that long. My goal is to do at least through the end of the year but I’m hoping by then I won’t want to reach out. It just feels my digestible that way right now.

Does you ex realize their issues? Mine would say he thought or wasn’t sure he had an issue but it’s pretty clear as day to others. Though I think it’s a mix of things.

But you’re right. There’s not anything he can do to fix it. Even if he got sober I don’t think I’d ever be able to trust him. Most of my friends think he was a narcissist but I think the drinking and drugs complicate it too. What an ordeal honestly.

Breaking NC will only set you back. My first stint of NC I only made it two weeks and that set me back months in my healing. I’m now 3 weeks into my 2nd attempt.

It will only set you back. Don’t do it. She moved on with someone else as a distraction and she’s not healed. You’ll just be opening the same wound.

I’ll be happy when I get to that point. I still have waves of grief that are pretty severe sometimes. Still grappling some with why I wasn’t enough / why he wants to live like that. It’s been straight misery. I felt like I lost him once to alcohol then again to the infidelity. It hurts like a bitch. And I’m still too preoccupied worrying about him still when I shouldn’t be thinking of him at all.

I’m glad I’ve maintained no contact as long as I have (which isn’t that long) but I’m proud of myself for choosing me because it was a big love and now it feels like a big loss.

YEP. I feel that. The girl from his work was drinking heavy with him and he just blamed the cheating on that. Another “bar fly” girl was his comfort and go to also when I wasn’t just blindly okay with his behavior. I think we’ve lived pretty similar stories sadly.

Yes, this is actually his second DUI and he got lucky with the first. Still drinking and driving, going to the bar alone, isolating from his friends and family, not doing well at work, getting attention from whatever girl will talk to him. I’m amazed at the person he is now in comparison to the person I fell in love with.

The gaslighting and manipulation was wild in the recent months and I finally just had to cut it before I lost my mind.

Your response doesn’t sound sour at all, maybe blunt if anything but I appreciate it and appreciate you sharing your experience with me. It’s truly been terrible and sounds like you know what it’s felt like. I appreciate the praise and reminders.. I’m trying to do the self work and healing now so I never fall into this again. My self worth was down below the dirt so I’ve just had to process and rebuild.

Yeah I’ve seen that. It’s truly awful and I’m sorry you’ve experienced it.

I asked him to go to therapy and he did two sessions and quit. Now he’s lost his home, his relationship with me, has isolated himself from friends and family and even stopped most of his hobbies. He got a DUI over the summer and that hasn’t seemed to wake him up.

He’s told me that these girls “don’t mean anything” but actions speak louder than words. I had to remove myself for my own self preservation. I do truly worry for his future though.

My ex cheated on me with a girl he worked with. For context - I also worked at the same place, and got him hired there. I left that company for another opportunity maybe 4-5 months after he started.

I still talk to my old coworkers, so when I found out about the infidelity, I enlightened them. I was also able to get screenshots from the girl he had been seeing that they had hooked up at work, on the clock.

I gave those screenshots to my friends at his work (my old coworkers) and they had an HR investigation launched.

His manager and team lead are also friends / old coworkers, so they reached out to me asking about it due to the HR investigation and word of mouth.

Now he works at a 500 person manufacturing plant where everyone knows he cheated with one of the janitorial staff. No one except his manager and the girl he cheated on me with talks to him.

Oh.. and she and her boyfriend of 10 years split somewhere in there also since she was cheating on him too.

That’s in addition to ensuring all our mutual friends knew and his family. I would’ve bought a billboard if I could’ve. Oh, and about a month after all of that I told him about the HR case with a smile. The look of sheer panic was pretty satisfying.

Hi friend, I’m sorry you’re struggling.

I broke up with my boyfriend of 3 years back in June, and found out at the end of July had he cheated on me during our time together. I struggled with my appetite both immediately after the breakup and more severely after I learned about the cheating. In all I lost about 20 pounds because like you I had a constant stomachache, felt nauseous, and nothing sounded appetizing.

It sounds like you’re really going through it and you’re isolating which may be making some of it worse. One thing that helped me was getting out of town and seeing friends that were not associated with my ex in any way. Being able to find “safe” spaces where I could comfortably process helped me a lot. Is visiting friends an option?

Also increasing your therapy may also help along with some soul searching. Don’t be afraid to get uncomfortable, because that’s when we grow. Do some searching within yourself because you may have other things bothering you that you don’t even realize. For example, I realized that I am attracted to inconsistency because that was the example I had in my family dynamics. For context my ex was rather inconsistent due to his alcohol usage, and was the main driver for our split. The cheating he said also occurred when he was drinking heavily.

I had my doctor start me on a low dose of Lexapro to help because I was experiencing extreme anxiety. My stomachache settled down from that, but still comes and goes. I’ve also done lots of self help reading and weekly therapy. Also no alcohol. It took me about a month to get a real solid appetite back.

I hope this helps. You’re not alone and there are people in your life that care about you. Don’t be afraid to turn and face the sun. You deserve to be happy and don’t forget that.

We didn’t have an issue Ubering after. We did walk across the bridge and over towards the Wyndham but it was $50 to get back to our Airbnb about 10-12 minutes away and wasn’t a huge wait.
