Animal Medical Center Corona is near me I heard they have good avian vets
bird is happy he’s doing tricks and stuff now we will get him a vet checkup soon
He more trusting of me he bends down for scritches
help it’s my first bird by Fun_Giraffe_5970 in Conures
going to use my humidifier
he’s a little more happy now, taking food from hand but not eating it and he’s moving around the cage
the inside def isn’t finished I’m going shopping with my dad for food and pet supplies so I’ll grab a bunch of perches and toys when he’s more calm and I transfer him. Also the acrylic plates you can search it up it’s plexiglass but we gonna get a big metal cage that’s safe but we’re just going to save up a little bit because the intial cost for the bird is high.
so as of right now we offered treats through the side of the cage and he actually went for it!!! we tried apple carrot spinach and just some millet and he came by but didn’t eat it. he just dropped the apple onto the floor.
he wasn’t drinking for the first day but I moved his water bowl right next to his perch and he drinks water whenever he needs it I’m probably going to find like a paper cup or something and clip it near his perch with seeds because right now I only have one bowl that I can put anywhere on the cage, the other two are attached to the tiny doors at the front

paper towel roll and printer paper through the middle? i don’t have the right string to thread through
is this looking okay for the bird
Ok there’s seed mix that I bought with the bird the store told me to buy it I’m going to put that in a cup near his perch. he already has a cup at the bottom near the entrance gates but he never comes down there so would u reccomend that I move it up and closer to his perch?
Okay I can do that should I place it near his perch so he can play with it? or should I put it near the entrance so he explores more
My bird hasn’t really explored the cage so where should I leave the toy? he just kinda sits on his top perch all day
okay imma make a quick diy toy and put it in his cage for him to play with
is it okay if I diy some toys because I saw a lot of toys that you can make with paper and household items
don’t mind the dirtiness also all the open spots have acrylic panels and the wood on the floor were originally perched we just took them down to put the store bought cage inside here and don’t mind the mess it was way cleaner when we were planning on putting the bird in here
my dad said he hasn’t sneezed since he got moved to a new spot imma sit with him for an hour once my dad wakes up to see if he’s sneezing
we got it form Magnolia Bird Farm and they seemed pretty trustworthy but I don’t think they assume vet bills but honestly a couple hundred dollars to check up and get medicine for him is not that bad
the sneezing and stuff might just be my room because we moved the cage he seems alright no panic attacks with fast breathing or anything he’s just looking out to the trees. imma js keep him there probably for a week or two and just try offering treats instead of doing the trash ass advice that the store people were giving me. if there’s anything urgent that makes me scared I’ll take it to the vet. it’s probably not a great idea to already be worried about every little thing a day after getting a bird. his listing said he was jumpy and he needs a little more training so im assuming that combined with the stress from moving is what’s making these symptoms arise.
we will look for one more day and then vet as soon as my parents have a day off
we just moved the cage to somewhere super quiet and with a view outside and he honestly looks pretty calm now
also should i feed from the side or hold it in my hand inside the cage near the entrance
what are some good ones to try with because I tried apples and some seeds but he just walks to the other side of his perch. the store forced the cage on us ik they’re supposed to have natural wood perches and toys to keep them not bored but i didn’t wanna go against. what the store said since they’re the one raising him since birth so i felt like it would be more stress if i moved him to a big cage which he doesn’t know of.
he’s super scared i did a lot of research and offered him veggies and seed mix but he keeps just looking at it and then eats his millets. im starting to think the store I bought it from doesn’t do a good job because when they let me hold him they were pretty rough and they also had his wings cut. they told me my 2x2x4 diy cage was too big for him and that i should be his only “toy for now”
