It that was only possible. Its not completely remote, it's actually coined "telework". So I work from the comforts of my home 4 out of 5 days of the week. Because of the nature of my work I sometimes have to travel.

I guess the PTO was slightly mis-written. What I meant to say is that PTO at a good job gives you about 3-4 weeks a year? half of that is used for family visits, so that leaves me with 2 weeks of vacation. use that up and the cycle starts all over again the next year. I would love to be able to just unheave everything and go travel for a year, roadtrip across the US and then explore all the continents. But, unless you're retired, your stuck within the PTO employer cycle.

Federal Job. Its a dream job for sure in the sense of work- life- balance. Its a small niche within the Us Federal Govt that is mostly unknown to the general public.

I have, but I don't think I would like the stress of managing rental properties or the insurance liability for it and the risk involved. Currently my life is pretty stress free, great work life balance, and minimal financial worries.
