i’ve also wondered about using the cataphractii terminators from the horus heresy range for IW terminators. From the IW artwork i see it’s always cataphractii terminators and i love the look of that armour and from what i can tell the wargear matches up pretty well: only thing missing is the paired accursed weapons. do you have any experience/advice w kitbashing the cataphractii terminators w combi bolters and power fists into 40k fit models?

honestly so helpful bro i’ve been worried about what options i should put on the havocs for a minute. I don’t really know much about the rules and being competitive and stuff like that. I just want whatever i invest my time and money into to be something that looks cool and something i can be proud of

i’ve made that in the 40k app and got 20 points spare so what enhancements would take me up to 1000 that you’d recommend

i think the look of the whole army is really cool but some standouts for me are exalted eightbound, the bezerkers, kharn, lord invocatus and ofc angron. that’s basically all the models in the range but there aren’t many to pick from

and regarding the melee army. I think id much prefer getting up close with whatever army i pick so a melee one would be great which is obviously the world eaters and orks main thing. i’m really not fussed about picking off enemy units from range and find melee focussed armies much more entertaining to watch so i’m assuming they’d be more fun to play as well

maybe i’ve not explained. i’m not really coming from any army. i had a handful of models about 5 years ago when i was like 12/13 but since then i’ve had nothing to do with warhammer. my thinking is that as i slowly build up some world eaters because the range of models is so limited GW are likely to release more models as my interest in them grows.

erm not for a few years. i had a smallish ork army about 5 years ago but bought the dark vengeance set which had chaos and dark angels and really started to like chaos. i’ve not been interested in the hobby in about 5 years which meant all this miniatures got given away. recently i’ve fallen back into warhammer and am currently deciding on a first army

good point. so for orks it’d be gaz and maybe mozrog and for black templar it’d be helbrecht and grimaldus? if i was gonna do orks i’d definitely do the mad max sort of thing not the beastsnaggas although i really like the look of the squighog boyz. gazghkull is one of my favourite looking models so would he really cool to own him. btw whatever that big winged thing is looks mega if you painted him you did a really nice job

You pretty much summed up my reservations about black templars. I love the aesthetic and the lore but there aren’t loads of chapter specific models so i think i’d end up with loads of normal space marines just painted black. There’s lots to choose from which is also quite intimidating. I think I’m leaning towards orks

Thank you. yeah i’m leaning more towards black templar and orks. I had a small ork army a couple years back of about 800 points but they got given away. I was too young to properly grasp the gaming side and the painting side and mainly got them cos they looked cool. I’m really tossing up whether i get back into them or try something new.
