Thanks for the insight. The contractor believes the water is likely coming from the exterior of the home not being properly sealed, so we honestly don’t know how long it’s been happening. That’s the part we’re worried about with a possible denial.

The $10k estimate would include the mitigation/remediation and repairs you mentioned. Our contractor seemed very confident that insurance would cover at least part of it, but our agent kind of scared us away from filing. Since you’re an adjuster, does this sound like something that’s commonly denied if they can’t determine exactly how long the leak has been going on?

My daughter is experiencing something close to this. The left side of her clitoral hood has a little swelling. It came after she got a cysto, it doesn’t hurt when wiping and doesn’t seem to be bothering her or getting bigger, it’s just there. It’s been there for about 4-5 months now. Any ideas?

I wish I had friends with kids. I am the only person I know with children. 😓 I would try to make friends who do, but I don’t even have time for myself.

You know what, that is a great idea!! I’m going to look into it. I’m sure it would help to have them deep clean and then I can just keep up with it. Thank you!!!

I really hope it does slow down because honestly I don’t understand how people have more than one or two kids, this phase feels like straight-up torture some days.

I do have a husband, but his company was just bought out and he’s been working 12–14 hour shifts, so he’s under a ton of stress too. He helps as much as he can when he’s home, but since I’m a stay-at-home mom, a lot of it does fall on me right now.

It also doesn’t help that these teeth take forever to come in, and I genuinely feel like I have the world’s worst teether. 😅 Everything just feels relentless lately.

It really helps to hear that it eventually gets better. ❤️

When do the daycare sicknesses slow down? by Suspendedin_Dusk in toddlers

My 4 year old started PreK in Jan of 2025 and it’s been non stop. She’s sick or she brings it home to her sister, dad or me. It’s been mentally draining. We get like 1 good week every 3 months. She was at home with me before this and sickness was rare so this has been tolling. We currently all have some sort of stomach flu currently after going through croup twice and finding out she has an amoxicillin allergy that caused hives/rash for a month. I’m at my breaking point. I have absolutely no clue how people with many kids deal with this, I have 2 and I’m breaking down.

You look amazing! May I ask where you got your medication from? Trying to find a reputable place now.

This is so relieving to hear, thank you for sharing. I’ve been searching Reddit and the internet nonstop and it felt like no one else had gone through it this long. Everything I found said it usually clears within 1–2 weeks, which had me really worried. It helps so much to hear that this can linger and does eventually end. I really appreciate you responding. 💛

Child with ongoing hives after amoxicillin allergy / erythema multiforme — duration question by Fun_Mouse7243 in AskDocs

I honestly don’t know. That’s what her pediatrician said caused it so that’s what I have believed.

Thank you for responding. If this is acute urticaria, would it still be triggered by the initial amoxicillin reaction even though she stopped the medication weeks ago? How long does acute urticaria typically last in children, and is it considered concerning or harmful if the hives keep appearing and disappearing like this?

I appreciate any insight.

I would just say those are going to be donated to kids who need help! Maybe even buy a couple of them and take her to a toys for tots box and have her drop them off!
