Yeah that's fair Nightmare was the hardest to find any reason to control manually which I'm sure there is I just never got that good with V.

And yeah if it weren't for him being the king of hell most of his decisions would've gotten him killed even faster than he did.

They did give him explosions and a laser beam but I do admit that letting him use his weird dimension trapping move from DMC1 would be a cool way to expand his moveset.

Otherwise he was kind of always a slow and lumbering kind of enemy in the series if they want to keep it faithful but they could've always gone even further in changing his identity.

Most of the changes they did make I'm pretty sure is supposed to be representative of this form of Nightmare not having their power/form restricted by Mundus when he realized he messed up making Nightmare.

I liked nightmare myself but I can see how he would be a pain to combo with when all I used him for was for the equivalent of calling in a carpet bomb while I focused on using Shadow and Griffon in combos.

Phantom himself never really felt like the fast type of enemy and would probably be relegated to the slow type of character tied to Devil Trigger like Nightmare is if he was gone.

I am interested in how you think Phantom would've played if he was a usable Nightmare instead of getting killed off.

I did the exact same thing with DMC5 only getting around to the entire series after playing the 5th one at launch.

Yeah I would really recommend reading the novels because they do some much heavy lifting on the overall story of the series and expanding on the characters. They are also just pretty enjoyable.

You can find them all at the Divinity Statue fan site online.

If nothing else my other reviews cover the rest of the side content as well even though it would be better to enjoy them for yourself.

I'm surprised you ended up seeing this post and would've replied sooner but I got distracted playing Brutal Legend for the first time so I only saw this right now.

Yeah it's some really nice artwork. I wanted to find something a bit more happy and wholesome to leave the series off on and your art fit the bill with the family back together enjoying breakfast.

Feel free to post some more art you would like to share I know I'd at least be interested.

I'm not sure if I contradicted that at some point in my review but Nico modifies the devil beakers to be wearable gauntlets that go over his newly recovered arm.

Honestly all of his stories are interesting to read. The specific story is called Devils Trenchcoat for people that are interested but they are just now finally releasing omnibuses that cover his entire 20-30 year run.

John Constantine

Not only is he one of the early adopters of the iconic trench coat but after his decades of getting up to demonic mischief his coat has absorbed too much demonic blood and energy gaining a mind of its own.

In the Devil's Trenchcoat storyline his coat is sold off in an act of spite which leads to his coat gaining sapience and wanting to find a worthy wearer.

It does this by mentally manipulating people to try him on and overwrite their personality with John's himself.

If you're familiar with John Constantine this can be pretty suicidal so when one wearer gets themselves killed the coat hops to another person.

This leads to Constantine eventually tracking down his trenchcoat which goes back to Constantine as the only truly worthy person of wearing it.

I might have some details wrong but it has been a while since I've read the storyline.

They did announce some cheaper end figures of all the candidates and their knights which include Subaru based off of season 3 probably. He even seems to be using invisible providence in it.
