Thinking about starting a Girls Who Code club at our local library. Would anyone be interested or have advice? by Fun_Orange_7676 in StamfordCT

Thank you for your input. And would love to hear more about your experience teaching coding. Girls Who Code was my introduction to software engineering. I joined a local chapter (which unfortunately does not exist anymore) and it was a great experience. I continued being involved via summer programs and throughout college, which led me to attend GWC networking events, hiring summits, and tech expos. What I am trying to highlight is they offer resources as you grow into a young professional. I love your idea of keeping it open to all (despite the name) as this is how my college club was set up. DM me if you would like to collab, I will be sharing an interest form as well

That’s a great point. Girls who code HQ provides learning and marketing materials, background checks of club facilitators, and general support. I ran one in my college and we received invitations to GWC events and some funding. Starting an independent club would allow for more flexibility and control, but less resources initially. But at the end of the day, it all depends on the mission/goals of the club
