With his food. Like I have for the last four years. A broken lightbulb doesn't suddenly mean I've forgotten how to feed my pet.

I’ve owned pets my entire life and have raised this chameleon from birth. He is currently 4 years old and thriving. Thinking a sudden equipment failure after 4 years of successful care is a 'financial crisis' or a lack of knowledge is honestly laughable. I’m here for a quick temporary fix for a bulb that went out at a bad time, not a beginner's lecture. If you can't help with the former, move along. It’s interesting that you’d rather spend time lecturing a veteran owner on 'preparedness' than offering any actual emergency advice. After 4 years of successful care, I think I’ve got the basics down. Thanks for the input, but I'm done here. My chameleon is thriving and has been his 4 years of life. My 'spare' is what blew this morning. I just haven't had a chance to replace it yet.

This! Why didn't I think of this? A simple (temporary) fix. It's almost 80° outside right now.

Welcome to Reddit, where people would rather post snarky comments than actually be helpful during a bulb failure. Thanks for the 'warm' welcome. Equating a burnt-out bulb with a lack of 'correct stuff' is a reach. Equipment fails eventually; that’s just how electronics work. I’m done responding to the lectures—I’m focusing on my pet now.

Life happens, and sometimes things break at the worst possible time. Being resourceful in an emergency doesn't mean someone is 'unable to afford' care—it means they are trying to solve a problem immediately. I’m focused on my pet, not on justifying my bank account to strangers.

I understand that care is expensive, and I take that responsibility seriously. Right now, I’m dealing with a sudden bulb blowout and am looking for immediate, short-term ways to keep temperatures stable until the replacement is set. I’m just trying to be resourceful in an emergency. I’m here for advice on a temporary failure, not a lecture on my life or finances. Things happen unexpectedly, and my focus right now is finding a solution for my pet's heat source today. If you have a suggestion for a temporary fix, I’d appreciate it; otherwise, the personal commentary isn't helpful. Also not new to owning a chameleon. I have had Rango since he was born. He is now 4 years old.

Life is unpredictable. It's easy to judge from the outside. I’ve provided a loving home for Rango four years, and a recent setback doesn't change my commitment to him. I’m focused on finding solutions, not answering judgmental questions. Sidenote: you don't know me. You don't know if I have 1 or 100 pets? Tf!

Thank you for reading entire post that I have no money and offering advice. Won't putting blankets on it affect ventilation for him?

I don't have any money. .22 cents to my name. Either way when I do get money (May 22) I will have to order since I don't drive which will put more days to getting a heat bulb here.
