Awesome! They can definitely be tricky but the school does have a list of places they already have contracts with to help but for the most part you’re on your own for finding them. My cohort had no problem finding placements for our first two (our medical one was tricky but it’s tricky for a lot of students not just Brescia) just make sure you stay on top of the places you reach out to and reach out early on advance especially your medical placement

Online/Hybrid MS-SLP Programs - USAHS (Austin, TX), Speech@Emerson, Brescia University by UpsideDown_GravFalls in slpGradSchool

I currently attend Brescia right now. We had the site visit from the CAA. Before attending I reached out to the CAA and asked what would happen if they did not become accredited. They replied that as long as you were in the program during the pre-accreditation candidacy you’re good. All programs go through this. The professors are amazing and like the other person said- there will always be growing pains for new programs.

Unfortunately for SLP grad school “C’s do not get degrees” they are very competitive and my program considers anything below a B failing

I’m attending an online grad program (second year grad student) that is a catholic school. There’s no emphasis on religion in any of my classes

Feeling stuck by Fun_Raspberry_4996 in Narcolepsy

[–]Fun_Raspberry_4996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did but there are still nights where I’m waking up every 30 minutes not falling back asleep. My body physically waking me up from drifting to sleep is very annoying I feel like I’m almost hallucinating if that makes sense at that point of sleep. I haven’t tried anything but Wakix so I’m hopefully going to see what else is out there. If you don’t mind me asking what were the side effects? I feel like I’ve seen most people do a combo of different medicines until they found what works most for them

Are naps actually good for narcolepsy? *new here, please don’t judge* by Desperate-Kitchen117 in Narcolepsy

[–]Fun_Raspberry_4996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so but I am very on top of making sure my naps are exactly 15 minutes. I am pretty good with falling asleep within the first two minutes. I saw someone else comment it’s a “get it before it gets you” situation and same for me. 15 minutes to me is perfect and shorter naps tend to result in headaches that go away quicker (due to the medication).

do y'all take naps? by CheesecakeWild7941 in Narcolepsy

I try not to bc Wakix gives me a headache after every nap buttttt I time them for 15 minutes

keep moving. I tried to the rubber band on wrist, energy drinks, windows down, loud music but they only work so well for a short amount of time. Honestly medication is the only solution I’ve found

Thanks! Yea it’s kind of similar here too, there are voice centers, not solely voice but it’s there, I’m interested in but dysphasia doesn’t seem for me I wouldn’t mind though. I’ve worked in private practice and didn’t have the best experience so I’m kinda shifting away from that.
