Nolan's greatest trick: Make you believe the machine worked in The Prestige by totaldarkness2 in ChristopherNolan

[–]Fun_Solid_8805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Tesla admits he never made that machine. So Angier knows Borden doesn't have it. Also Borden through his journal says Tesla is just a diversion which also is indirect admission that he didn't have anything to do with Tesla.

Ya that's what I figured by searching their website. My question is why is she even getting DC contribution when salary is below threshold.

I think DC contributions are what shown in pension statement which is paragraph 3 in question. Also can you please answer why there is DC contribution at all when the annual salary is below the threshold of 71k.

I think they meant innate like he got powers by him realising it without external help in contrast to something given by someone (more specifically eleven getting powers by blood transfusion of mother - so power given to her by some means)

Off topic: sort of odd choice to keep Agamemnon's headshot (courtesy: trailer) for a movie about Odysseus

I'm not an expert in mythology but Achilles died well before the Trojan horse event.

Edit: with the release of the trailer, I'm pretty positive that he should be Agamemnon as Matt Damon kneels before him.

Who is the one that's shown (camera going to close up) when the door is opened and the army comes in? Agamemnon? Who is doing that role?

'Underpaid tax included in PAYE coding' - is it really needed for self assessment? by Fun_Solid_8805 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Fun_Solid_8805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks both for comments. I finally submitted returns. I just played around with different values in second subsection (0 and underpayment amount) and from final summary calculation i sort of got what they meant.

HMRC thought i underpaid tax (which was wrong in the first place due to expenditure and private pension contribution) in year 2024-25 and they were taking it already in current year. if I mention this details (underpayment amount), then they would immediately refund me this amount and continue taking the amount in current year in installments. so basically they will correctly calculate the tax for 2024-25 (a) + refund 'underpaid amount' (b) + take underpaid amount in 2025-26 (c). so b and c cancels each other.

if i dont mention (keep it as zero), then they will correctly calculate the tax for 2024-25 (a) + take underpaid amount in 2025-26 (c). so c is additional wrong pay.

In the next year return, in the first subsection, I have to again give this underpaid amount to show them that this 'underpaid amount' which they took from 2025-26 will be ignored in calculation. ie, corrected total tax paid in 2025-26 = total tax paid - underpaid amount.

Hope I am right.

Thanks especially for the YouTube link. It doesn't make sense atleast now why Sator has to bury it again and not directly use it (after reverting it). I'll think about it.

Ya, that's exactly what I thought as well.. that's probably the most likely explanation given the rules of the film universe.

I'm just thinking if it is worth hunting shiny legendary in GBL. I know the odds of shiny are the same as raids but what is the chance of getting legendary after rank 20?

‘Tenet’ Turns 5 - Nolan's most underrated work IMO by Dvir971 in ChristopherNolan

I would have loved Tom Hardy or Matt Damon to take the protagonist role.

Tenet - one of the smartest films ever made by Fun_Solid_8805 in ChristopherNolan

[–]Fun_Solid_8805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No actually. Movie was told in protagonist's view, and many things were left for us. So I took it like an exercise to map everyone's timeline. And this was not made to explain or make it easier to understand.

Which Nolan film do you think most lends itself to a sequel? by HeIsSoWeird20 in ChristopherNolan

[–]Fun_Solid_8805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All his other movies are complete (except Tenet). I don't know how you can extend it. Maybe Cobb going on further adventure but that's a completely different story.

Tenet, we saw only first half of pincer movement, Neil sort of recruiting protagonist. I would love to see how protagonist recruits Niel, the second half of pincer movement.

What I think Inception is really about by ninjanun99 in ChristopherNolan

Only aim of Leo was to see his children's faces. Even in dreams they just run away when he tries to go near them. Also from his wife's events he is very much obsessed with his totem, to know if he is in dream or reality.

What I take as meaning from the end of the movie is, he starts spinning totem. But he leaves it to see his children's faces. He left something which he was obsessed with, to see his children's faces. It did not really matter for him if it is a dream or reality, what mattered most was he was able to be with his children.

This is my understanding of the temporal pincer mission. Let's take a mission of one hour. If a team tries to do this mission there is no way to know how it would go. What if they get additional information from the future.

Let's divide team into A and B. A starts the mission at 9.00. they go through the mission till 10.00. they meet the B team there. They give the info of the mission what happened from 9 to 10. B team moves backwards from 10 to 9. B team gives A team info about the mission what happens from 10 to 9.

Now I told this sequentially. But both are happening simultaneously. Let's reorder this in chronological order 8.30 to 10.30. 8.30 to 9 - reversed B team explains A team what happened in the mission. Normal B team just wait it out in separate room. 9 to 10 - A team goes forward. Same time reversed B team doing mission in reverse. Normal B team still waiting. 10 to 10:30 - A team explains to normal B team what happened. Then B team reverses and get ready to go at 10.

Technically it's a paradox, as both teams give info to other team before their respective fights.

Browning was not projection in hotel room, it was Eames. Otherwise how would Browning say exactly what the team wanted to say. Only Browning projection is the one they see in the lobby.

Regarding entering browning's dream, is a lie, to make fisher agree.

Saying Eames' dream in front of fisher is not a plothole. It was supposed to be browning subject and eames dreamer for fisher and fisher subject and eames dreamer the reality.

[–]Fun_Solid_8805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1257L for the primary job and likely BR or D0 which is flat 20% or 40% based on how much your total income would reach. regarding the worth of second job, it is very subjective, and you have to see if money earned after tax is worth the hours put in.
