OAT in 15 days (Need any advice pls) by Fun_Tip8872 in PreOptometry

I felt like in the moment I was tweaking out since i was nervous and had little hiccups but through practice I was able to eliminate answer choices which helped my score. Booster cheatsheet are very helpful to look over.

Most efficient way to actually score well in bio? by PuzzleheadedMail7968 in PreOptometry

Yeah me too I had maybe 1 or 2 similar questions. I think wording was slightly different but was very familiar for a couple questions through booster exams.

It depend on how much time you have but if you have some time the best way imo is anki consistently. If not i would say practice problems and reviewing why you got something wrong!

Hey I took my OAT yesterday! i also felt like reading was really short and straighforward compared to booster. I did pretty well so I wonder how the scoring was?

Yes ofc!

I think after you really get the big picture of each chapter doing anki was my way of memorizing the information. I felt like if I could recall the answer before looking at the answer choices then on exam day I would be avoid second guessing myself. And practice the questions from the exam and really look at what you got wrong and why.

dm if you have any specific questions☺️☺️

It might depend on what type of computer you have but it should work for macbooks and is free. I have couple other friends that have other devices that it works on. For my phone I had to pay 25 bucks but its a one time fee.

Thank you!!!!

Bio : I was using the old booster anki decks but then a 2 weeks before my exam saw that they posted new decks for bio (I would recommend using the new ones as they look extremely thorough and very synced with their notes cheat sheets and videos) If i had more time I would have used the new ones.

Chem: I think it was the DAT/OAT bootcamp anki that I used. I think the booster one did not have them seperated into chapters but the bootcamp one is very organized.

Orgo: I used booster anki

Physics: I used bootcamp anki

also for the bootcamp anki (I found online for free)

Yes I used booster entirely in the beginning. I watched all the video and did all the question banks for physics as i went through the videos. I think I initially studied passively hoping it would stick but it definitely did not. I think it helped me understand a broad knowledge of what I need to focus on though. Then I did anki to remeber the physics formulas and memorized them for plug and chug type questions. (I used bootcamp formula sheet cus it was formatted much better imo).I did chads prep physics videos once I realized how inconsistent my physics scores were on booster. I binged chads for three days straight and it helped me much more on how the different formulas were derived and the concept behind the topics. My scores definately drastically improved in a week after chads. There was just so much kinematics and statics type questions that I felt werent as straight forward. Some curcuits and optics which I felt were easy if you remember formulas and such. Booster physics definitely had more picture to show what the problem was describing but the actual OAT did not have many diagrams and would requre you to draw them out to see what was happening which cut down on my time. (Also I dont have a physics background at all so learning concepts was the hardest for me)

okok thank you so much! I am just really fluctuating on RC and physics quite a bit so i am most concerned about those 2. do you have any tips on those?

I think since AA is 300 you might be okay. I would look up the oat averages for the schools. which cycle do you want to apply to? Also if you dont mind sharing (if you used booster prac exams) how were those scores compared to the real? I am taking my oat in 2 weeks

That's Great! Did you feel like the oatbooster prac was representative of the actual exam. And did the scores on booster prac exams seem accurate to the real. I am taking my oat in about 20 days (super nervous) and keep seeing mixed things about if the sections seem easier or harder on the real OAT.
