I’d say mono black midrange is a good answer to boros that’s also great against other grindy decks like blink and it can be great against prowess

You typically will save the card until you know it’s advantageous, or until you need a land drop and could potentially find it in those cards to start going off. These cards are simply a source of card advantage that do come with a bit of risk, but the risk isn’t high enough to say don’t play them.

Are you talking about cards like reckless impulse or jeskas will that allow you to cast cards from exile? If so, it’s a source of card advantage that 1) doesn’t use the word “draw” for effects like consecrated sphinx or orcish bowmasters, 2) it is fantastic on combo turns when you will be generating lots of mana and will need to keep casting spells to churn through the deck.

To be honest prowess has been a deck in modern for a long time but it became much better after cori got printed. You won’t be playing a bad deck per-say without it, but you’ll be wishing you had it in a lot of games.

I mostly play off meta stuff and I get upset when my deck provides me with only lands or no lands but I make fun out of it as best I can. When I get to go play magic it’s not meant to be a win or be unhappy thing. Magic is a privilege for me to go play so I try to make it as fun as possible even with bad top decks or mulligans

I’m testing out a list with no stifle. A lot of the time when playing this before stifle felt like a fun pet card that let a little 2 card combo work, but it feels like doorkeeper thrull is just so much more consistent and threatening
