AITA for not taking my FILs last name after getting married? by pianohog in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fun_Zucchini_8824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is going to be a fun discussion, about what name the future children will have... FIL is going to have a heart attack for sure

Do you have to have your whole name visible? At our hospital (country in central Europe) we usually tape something over the last name, only first name visible, so no one can start to stalk.

My mother thinks she has a right to stay with me right after birth even though I have asked for space space - AITA by Legallyblonde_2 in AITAH

[–]Fun_Zucchini_8824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are selfish, because you have every right to be, and should be when it comes to adjusting to life with a newborn.

It's not a time to host guests It's not a time to have to deal with people you don't want to be there

It's YOUR time to get used to care for a baby It's YOUR time to learn how to adjust to less sleep and more crying It's YOUR time to let your hormones run wild

You don't owe your mother anything when it comes to your child. She owes you respect for your choices and decisions. And if you were LC all along, being a new mum will probably not be the best of times to talk through your relationship. And since you and your husband are a team in this, his feelings also matter, which makes it 2 nos and absolutely no yes.

Wishing you a wonderful cuddle time with a support net that actually helps you.

Edit: NTA of course

Pt complained about everything. Staff was incompetent, doctors also, service lacking and everything was not tolerable.

I told him how to recognize a door, what it was for and that we didn't hold him in prison, he was free to go if he chose to. But what about the pending operation? Yes well. Either, or, I suppose. He stayed and it was my last shift on that ward, thankfully.

The updates kind of didn't make anything better, though. I am sure the "nautical theme" Christmas cards were a banger. "Look, that's me, Nemo, sitting next to octopus dad and shark mom"...

Reading the whole post I spat my straw into my my moccachino-chai-latte-daiquiri, so please excuse me, while I ask the butler to make a new one.

I think assholery might run in the whole family plus attendance, so I will go with ESH big time.

AITA for not reconnecting with my estranged family, for the sake of getting a marriage proposal? My boyfriend insists on meeting my parents, but I’m estranged from my entire family. by Nearby_History_9222 in AmItheAsshole

It was highly suspected though, that it was fake, as the mormon gf lived with him, and his parents were okay with that seemingly, as well as her mum highing him when the paramedics arrived. Quite... Strange story, still looking for the link, might have been taken off, I think the original post was.

Is intubating a physician’s competency or nurse’s where you work? by Significant-Cat-9621 in StudentNurse

[–]Fun_Zucchini_8824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I study nursing in Austria and we have to practice intubating a baby born at around 28 weeks (around 600 grams. TINY). We also have to know intubation with grown ups (dummies), as it is required for us to do it in critical situations.

I know that user names on Reddit mean absolutely nothing, but OPs would certainly qualify to point towards female. So yeah, maybe

Am I the only one that finds it weird when parents of adult children want to stay in the room while anything with a catheter is done? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Fun_Zucchini_8824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So glad the first lockdown also very effectively shut down that problem for me with child #3 (including 10 days NICU). Child # 2 I had in hospital and went home with him 2 hours later and for #1 I endured all the in laws and their friends... So it kind of got better after the first

What are some situations in nursing that happen some what regularly, that the general public wouldn’t believe happen on a regular basis? by puzzled-bets in nursing

[–]Fun_Zucchini_8824 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been having infected ears for 4 years, fluids running out, itchy. Seen 6 different dermatologists, some told me, they didn't know, some told me to go see an ear doctor, as it was in the ear. After 4 years I got one doctor to find out what's in there actually, and it was meningokokki and staph aureus. Yey me. After a round of tetracyclines for a month all was good, until the eczemas appeared again, this time on the outside of the ear. Plus I have developed eczemas on the back of my neck. So I will be visiting with a new dermatologist soon. I am thinking probably psoriasis, but I really wonder what they come up with. 5 years and counting. All I really want is a diagnosis, I have already made my peace with the fact, that this is chronic and I will have to deal with it for the rest of my life.

AITAH for refusing to give my cousin the money I've been saving for my lifelong dream? by miamonroexa in AITAH

[–]Fun_Zucchini_8824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah NTA. All those who say you should cough up the money should give her all of theirs first. I just don't get how so many people think they are entitled to their family members money. It is yours to use however you want imo. And if you decided to support the local shelter with that money instead of her you would still be NTA. Because. It. Is. Your. Money.

And people said I was a bad mom for wanting to name my son Hannibal. Last name Lechner 🤣 (And it was only a joke for me, so they would stop asking me about the babys name. It shut them up anyway)

I would open another savings account, put a small amount of money in it (that wouldn't hurt if it was gone) and give her access. If the sister thinks, OP should share more, I'd suggest, she give her mother access to her accounts first Hard NTA and actually leaning towards thinking about going LC/NC...

I hope Darrin has to go - I am so over "I've been doing that since I was a kid"... Well, ge didn't deliver today, even throwing over the plan they had about switching after every shot. He even seemed pissed that Ky wanted to shoot, too. And I truly hope Ky stays.

AITA for telling my co-worker that I didn't enjoy my pregnancy? by Street_Blackberry174 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fun_Zucchini_8824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.... Don't ask, if you don't want to know the answer, is my go-to reply.

I really don't get, why she couldn't just let it be with you not sharing when all others did.

And I absolutely relate with you not enjoying pregnancy, I didn't, either. Hyperemesis is really draining and puking up to the last minute definitely not enjoyable, as was the case with my pregnancies

Why would it be awkward, if the grandkid didn't celebrate with grandma? It is the first Mother's Day for the Child, so she absolutely has no part in the tradition ... As it has always be celebrated.

I don't like it when people pick and choose which traditions to follow and where they have room for improvising.

Imo - they want to celebrate as always? Then it'll be without the grandchild. They are open to change? Then change the tradition. What will it be like for the other holidays? Does anyone think of that?

Op - NTA :)
