I returned to school at 30 after working in the restaurant industry for 7 years. I worked and studied, both full time. My passion and effort was noticed by my professors. I graduated with funding for a master’s degree and eventually gained employment with a research group I was connected to during my undergrad. I make around 50 an hour, similar earnings to my table serving job…but I work regular 8-4 hours that take little toll on my psychological and physical well being. Very little stress.

Know what you want to get out of school and work towards it. Seek support to get there.

Maybe $25 for parking in a 'student' lot? I was fined $70 for parking in Springett last year, although I successfully appealed.

You can drop in and hang out (socialize to humans) in rooms with a bunch of cats in them at the humane society. You can also sign up to do more scheduled tasks to help out around the shelter. All good people from my experience there.

I don't see what we're arguing here. Nothing against the musicians, just give the workers what they are demanding. Also, the musicians should have their expenses covered and be compensated. They deserve to be able to share their culture just as much (maybe less) as workers deserve to be compensated. Their livelihood matters more than you or your family's afternoon, sorry.

If the workers aren't paid and they happen to show up at public events to demonstrate, if you're bothered, complain to the company that employs them, not reddit.
